I would say this. The Denon includes the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room measurement system to level your speakers and has 8 HDMI inputs, where the Yamaha only has 5.

I've owned both Denon and Yamaha receivers in the past and just prefer Denon. But sound is subjective. You really can't go wrong with either brand.

I have this receiver, and it's probably the cheapest, quality receiver with analog pre-out. This is a very important feature if you ever want to add external amplification. I ran the room correction software, and it did a tremendous job for my bass response. Also, it's able to pass thru 4K HDR signals with ease. I have a finicky projector and it handles everything perfectly.

I got this refurbished off eBay for $400 about two months ago. Frys has sold them for $479 a few times now. This price is close to what street price has been for a year or more.

I bought this refurbed 4 months ago from an authorized retailer, added a 5 yr warranty (third party), and it was under $500 delivered. I was coming from a 10 year old Denon that was comparable in the lineup and I've been very happy. I chose this over a Yamaha due to the number of HDMI inputs more than anything.

This isn't really a deal. Same price at Target right now. Was $499 last Black Friday on Amazon.

Accessories4less has the refurbished one for $499. Is that a better deal? It says it is Denon refurbished. Buying a 5 year warranty with that is an additional $47.99. Thoughts?

If you are not paying sales tax from A4L...I would say that is a better deal with the 5 year warranty

Main difference seems to be that the x3500h is 7.2 while the x3600h is 9.2

x3600h is also expandable to 11.2 with an external amp. Specs wise, x3600 is closer to Marantz sr6013 which retails for around ~$900

Do not buy from A4L. I bought a refurb Onkyo TX NR545 from them and noticed it had severe issues pretty quick. Tried to return it and they denied me a return or a replacement even though they claimed a 1 year warranty.

+1 I bought Marantz from A4L, still going strong after years. You can also get extended warranty for piece of mind and will still save money. Also they don't charge sales tax on most states
