I got this jacket for $40 on Black Friday last year. I wore it all winter in the Midwest and it performed well.

I am a male, 6', 155lbs, and a medium fits perfect.

It is incredibly warm for its weight. It kept me warm in subzero temperatures and the fabric does repel water reasonably well. It's lightweight, and fairly fashionably cut. I will say the sheen on the black is a bit shiny for my taste and it does have a few feathers that leak out time to time but for the money it was a good buy.

I honestly haven't washed it yet. When I wear it I have clothes underneath, I haven't done any outwardly strenuous activities in it outdoors where it would get sweaty or dirty, and the few times it has gotten something splashed or spilled on it, the repellent nylon outer fabric easily comes clean with a cloth or towel with warm soapy water.

If and when I do have it cleaned, I will likely have it dry cleaned, as getting down wet can not only take a LONG time to dry (and if it doesn't dry quickly enough it can develop mildew/mold), but I believe (I am not sure but I believe) it can become matted and lose insulation value.

Yes down is more high maintenance than synthetic but it is so lightweight and warm, I can't imagine not having one in my winter armor collection lol : )

* I would recommend a full synthetic jacket to those that live in high precipitation climates (rain or snow), OR, a waterproof outer shell.

Google is your friend, just get some down cleaner and read the tags on the jacket. Usually cold, wash separate, gentle/delicate cycle.

Drying is the trick. I let it sit out in an airy spot for most of the day, then I throw it in the drier on low heat with two tennis balls to fluff it up and finish the dry. Comes out like new every time.

I've had the same patagonia down puffy for 9 years, after a good wash, you probably couldn't tell the difference between mine and a new one.

I am 5'7 and weigh 150 will this be too big for me? I usually wear medium in sweaters and shirts.

Previous threads mentioned that shipping was free with ShopRunner; did they remove the partnership with them? I don't see it as an option anymore.

Yes, seems their partnership with ShopRunner ended a while ago.
