Correct the link is a CL18 kit. Honestly a 3200 CL14 is going to be better. Ryzen 3000 users have 3 options. 3200 CL14, 3600 CL16 and 3800 CL16-18. The 3800 is always going to be iffy as it is only good if you can match the FCLK to 1900. Otherwise it will drop to 800 and it is worse than 2133 memory.

I managed to get my 3200 CL14 kit to 3800 CL16. 100% stable, but it took a few days of trail and error. Subtimming are also very important. I would say for the amount of work, the XMP 3200 CL14 was set and go. Benchmarks werent that much different. Games had a higher FPS at 1920x1080, above that its really a GPU game. Memory isnt a large factor.

I bought this same memory on sale from Microcenter for $189 a few days ago. I am returning them for a better deal at newegg.

Assuming this is Samsung B-die? Not a bad price considering current availability and no more manufacturing.

Went with the Ballistix Sport LT which is Micron E-die, 32gb for $125 a few weeks back. Reviews say it is also a great option for Ryzen and has similar results to the B-die.

At these timings, the Ripjaws are B-die, but I believe the Neos are Micron Rev.E. Decent price for the Neos, though, considering they're RGB and were released recently.

No, timings would be better if it was Samsung B-die.

Oh... the 3200 C14 is probably B-die but not the 3600.

I have a 32gb Samsung b die 3200 cl15 kit, but am still tempted because mine isn't on the mobo qvl and I hate chancing that and I haven't opened mine, but would be out all the stupid ebay fees if I seell it, of course.

If the Samsung b die neo 3600 kit would go on sale for like $275 or so I'd probably get it. It's 16-16-16. There's a 16-19-19 for $250. But the b die is $350.

Microcenter pricematches NewEgg. Rather than returning, they should be able to refund the difference.

AMD has stated that DDR4-3600 is the best performance option for its Ryzen 3000 series.

Is this deal better than the Snipers I just ordered for $150?

https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32...6820232741

Purchased for a board rated for max 2666 but wanted to future proof a bit

Edit: Is RAM Intel/AMD specific?? My new build is an i5-9600k

Can the Trident Neo set the RGB off, on a Linux machine? I plan to use it on my desktop next to my bed, and from the website it seems the Light control software is only available on Windows.

I searched for ya, but only came up with old threads and dead ends. I'm pretty sure there's a console control app, but probably as tedious as configuring all your mouse buttons.

No. But performance with a AMD Ryzen is RAM dependent. Much more so than Intel CPUs.
