I was like this. I bought the grocery store stuff or the costco two-packs. I've used it as no more than a lubricant for meat, essentially. It might as well have been 5W-30 olive oil.

Then I went to Italy and discovered an olive oil that changed my entire thinking. This wasn't some specialty "Buttered Popcorn Olive Oil" or some such...but a pure, intense flavor that enhanced every aspect of the meal. I regret not bringing back a whole barrel through customs.

I can't speak for the oil in this deal, but I can definitely say there are some oils that are absolutely worth the extra pennies.

In for 1. (They use Apple Pay!) Thanks 😊

FYI. Although you can cook with olive oils like this, fancier and / or tastier olive oils should be for tasting / eating.

Most fancy restaurants will use light oils for cooking and will "top up" with good olive oils.

Why? Well, first, you cook out most of the reason these oils are fancy. The delicate flavors. Then oils have different smoke points / the amount of heat they'll take before getting bitter. Extra virgin olive oils have a far lower smoke point than regular or even extra light olive oils, for example.

If you're using it, as another poster put it, "as a meat lubricant," while cooking, you're using the wrong oil for the job. Because of the smoke point, you actually could be doing your meat a disservice. So when you sear that steak, if you use a lighter oil, you won't get a thin film of bitter flavor competing with your other flavors.

This is a fantastic item on a dipping plate or for use in making hummus, drizzling over a caprese salad or cheeses. Heck, even a drizzle over pizza can up your takeout pizza game. (Remember, less is more, guys.)

World Market has half this size for $5.59, https://www.worldmarket.com/produ...ive-oil.do
Their regular price is $7.99 for 250 ml, or $15.98 for the equivalent of the volume listed here, so you be the judged on whether this is a good sale.

Different, yes, but not "very" different. They are both from the "heritage" line of the Garcia de la Cruz manufacturer. No reason for the one listed here to be almost double the price.

The one you are looking at is 'subtle and delicate'... it will taste very different than this one! Not necessarily in a bad way, just different.

They are from the same line, yes, different olive variety, but should be similar price. My point is this not a deal.
Here is the very one you are worshipping here, from La Espanola Meats, which is not a cheap store, and it's still $10 cheaper than the "regular" price listed in this "deal":

They added the 10 dollars back in shipping fees.

The original deal didn't charge for shipping, meaning it's still the cheapest 🤷🏽 ♂️

Doesn't seem like you can use the coupon code and use Apple Pay.
