On the "regular price," I think people are confusing the 400A AC clamp meter vs. the 400A AC/DC clamp meter.

They look similar, and it is easy to miss the DC part. That adds a lot to the value and the price.

Of course Sears inflates prices, but they don't often discount these meters by the amount here.

The current "regular price" for the AC clamp meter is $69.99, on sale for $49.99

In general, the "regular prices" have been inflating over the last year or so, so I can believe reg on the AC meter used to be $49.99, perhaps never going on sale.

Could of swore the regular price of this was 49.99 last week when I was looking at multimeters. I must be mistaken tho, everyone knows that good ol Sears would never over inflate their regular price to make an item appear to be on sale.

Regular price is indeed 49.99, even a few years ago when I bought mine. Been pretty happy with it, only really use it for the clamp since I have a fluke for the normal stuff.

It's been 27.99 since the blowout sale started (for the last month) today is the last day, the normal sale price is 49.99.

This is a good price for an ok clamp meter.

Today is the last day of the blowout sale.

Yes, I'm sure they confused with AC only current and AC/DC current meter.

I looked up for AC/DC current meter a few months back, I'm certain it's not $49.99 and not even $69.99.

When I saw it like $27.94 a few weeks ago, it's no brainer and pulled the trigger.

In 4 1. I do a lot of tinkering with lithium batteries and it's nice to see amperage draw on them so they don't catch fire.

Yes, if you want to measure current on a car (DC) or batteries (DC), the AC-only meter will not help much. The AC gets it done for household wiring.

And hey, BTW, I noticed I'm the one who wrote the top-rated review on this AC/DC meter on the Sears website. So there you go if you want more info.

Hopefully you already know this, but don't forget to purchase an AC line splitter to use with this if you don't have one already. Since most wires are two-conductor, they cancel eachother out and reading your wire with your clamp meter will give you the dangerously wrong reading that it's not carrying any current at all!

It's $36.88 here with tax an shipping. Should I pull the trigger on this? Still seems like a decent price just not as slick.
Or can anyone recommend something similar for this price?
No sears left for over 100 miles around here anymore.

The best price for a AC/DC current clamp meter was from Tacklife from Amazon for very cheap price (just do a slick search). It's not currently available and don't know if they will do that price again (they did it more than once)

Or next best price I found is from Aliexpress for $30+ (some of them just look like Tacklife one) and now even more because they started charging US sales tax.

Same here regarding in store pickup, closest Sears is over 80 miles out and multiple tolls. Past for me, good deal for those closer.
