TiVo Bolt 1000GB ( 1TB ) I think this has been this low only one other time on Amazon. My Roamio croaked and have been looking for next good TiVo deal. Too impatient to wait for trade in deals on the Roamio (please come again!).

249.99 for all in one subscription, correct? Or 6.99 month/69.99 year?

$100 less for a Roamio OTA VOX on Amazon with all-in service (as compared with $200+$250 for Bolt OTA). And with a Roamio, you get a 3.5" HDD and no overheating risk (ie premature drive death).

Please be aware that TiVo has started adding "pre-roll" commercials to recordings. These commercials play before your recording and, as of right now, are skippable. The ads only appear on devices running the latest UI.
How to avoid these ads:
1. "Downgrade" to the previous UI (TE3). This is done through setup and will delete any recordings.
2. Contact TiVo and ask for them to be disabled (it takes up to 72 hours). Disablement is up to TiVo's discretion and they have not published their criteria but as of now I have not heard of anyone being turned down. You have to be already receiving the ads before TiVo will disable them.

All of the above is subject to change at TiVo's whim.

I have yet to see this on my Roamio OTA lifetime TiVo.
But I don't know what version of the user interface am currently running either.

In august, Tivo had the Bolt plus the all in one subscription for $380. If you want this I suggest waiting for that deal to roll around again.

Yes but the bolt you can just pop in a new drive and boot it back up, it will reinstall everything on it's own.
Bought the cheap 500 all in @299 and dropped in $65 Seagate 2tb barracuda in less than 30 minutes

No. Bolt OTA does not have the connector.

still need to figure out how to sell my nib bolt w/lifetime. i'm done with tivo.
Seems pretty obvious you should just return it where you bought it since you haven't opened the box yet. Unless of course you're lying about the new in box part.

I'm impressed you registered and activated without opening it though.

Did not know you could do that with the Roamio, good to know. I still have working premieres that I remember the cloning process taking hours to complete if you were saving shows and only had a single unit.

3TB requires no additional steps. Larger than that if you want to utilize the full space you need to do some work.
