Trump Calls for Impeachment of Mitt Romney

19,729 1,013 October 5, 2019 at 10:50 PM
In response to criticisms from Senator Mitt Romney, President Trump has called for Romney's impeachment.

However, US Senators cannot be impeached, only Presidents and Federal Judges.

The President is a moron.

But what's more important here is the McCarthyesque behavior. When will this childish nonsense ever end? Anyone who is not 100% loyal to Trump is labeled as some sort of enemy of the state. It's as if Joe Stalin is running America. But our public servants should put loyalty to the state, and the people, ahead of loyalty to an individual... especially when that individual flagrantly, repeatedly breaks federal law.

#VulgarDonald "Trump is a pathological liar." "Trump is a phony." "He doesn't know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of this mouth."

Then: "The pattern we've seen under President Obama, disregarding the law, is really one of the most troubling aspects of this presidency, When he disagrees with the law…he simply refuses to comply with it."
Now: "Today, judicial lawlessness crossed into judicial tyranny, Today, for the first time ever, the government arrested a Christian woman for living according to her faith. This is wrong. This is not America. I stand with Kim Davis. Unequivocally. I stand with every American that the Obama Administration is trying to force to chose between honoring his or her faith or complying with a lawless court decision."

"What we just saw today was an absolute demonstration that, not only what he (McConnell) told every Republican senator, but what he told the press over and over and over again was a simple LIE."

Then: "This bill (Hurricane Sandy relief) is symptomatic of a larger problem in Washington—an addiction to spending money we do not have. The United States Senate should not be in the business of exploiting victims of natural disasters to fund pork projects that further expand our debt."
Now: "Today, Texans are hurting. ... Democrats and Republicans in the congressional delegation will stand as one in support of the federal government meeting its statutory obligations to provide the relief to help the Texans who are hurting."

"In the 13 months I've been in the Senate, it has become apparent to me the single thing that Republicans hate and fear the most - and that is when they're forced to tell the truth. It makes their heads explode. An awful lot of the Republicans wanted exactly what Barack Obama wanted, exactly what Nancy Pelosi wanted, exactly what Harry Reid wanted, which is to raise the debt ceiling, but they wanted to be able to tell what they view as their foolish, gullible constituents back home they didn't do it."

"Look – look, of course we should have a surgeon general in place. And we don't have one because President Obama, instead of nominating a health professional, he nominated someone (Dr. Murthy MD & Harvard Medical School Professor) who is an anti-gun activist."

"What I tell people is I wear this (indictment for abuse of power) as a badge of honor"

"His (Robert's) decision yesterday and his decision a couple of years ago violated his oath of office,"

"Today's Democratic Party has decided there is no room for Christians. There is a liberal fascism that is going after Christian believers."

trump math/logic: the more people accuse me of wrongdoing, the more my followers think that i am innocent and that the more detractors sound like the boy who cried wolf too many times. therefore i should commit more wrongdoings.

i have to admit that the "stable genius" has been proven right so far.

Of course. This is what republicans have been saying for decades now. "elite" liberals with their education who know things.....boooooo.

Of course, besides a few recent presidents, the republican senators tend to also have attended "elite" universities, graduated with accolades, etc. It's weird that they feel like they have to pretend they didn't.

Good morning everyone.

My opinion here is that Trump figured out that Americans hate our politicians on both sides of the aisle. Both sides have too many elitists! He crushed the Republican party when running for election in 2016, and so far has been able to hold on to many American voters regardless of his lies, lack of morals, and lack of respect for the laws in this country.

Most politicians are cowards! They enjoy the divisions in our country, which keeps it impossible for a third party of moderates. If Trump ran for President as a Democrat in 2016 (which he once was), the entire Republican Party would be up in arms calling for his impeachment right now.

I think the terms conservative and liberal should be done away with because both parties are spending us into an enormous amount of debt, yet that's another thread in itself.

I also believe Trump and his team of Guiliani, Barr, and Pompeo will not survive this latest fiasco. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

If you look at the Federal Government's official debt tracker, you will see that annual deficits were far far higher under the Republican Presidents Reagan, Bush and Trump, and vastly lower under Carter, Clinton (who balanced the budget) and, yes, Obama.

Why does debt spending skyrocket under Republicans? It's simple: They cut taxes which vastly increasing spending. And the spending increases are of the most wasteful kind: Military spending, which provides the most minimal economic benefits, compared to investments in people, infrastructure, research and economic development.

Sir, these are facts. You may think that both Democrats and Republicans overspend equally, but it is provably untrue. Of course anybody can label themselves "Democrat," so it doesn't guarantee honesty and integrity. But facts do not lie. It's the Republicans who have created the national debt crisis, starting with the President who ran on the platform of making debt reduction his number one priority.

Ever since; the Republicans used the same trick: Cut taxes on the rich, spend like mad, blame the resulting debt on Democrats and claim that all this credit card spending was an economic miracle.

Try it yourself! Get a credit card with a $30,000 limit and spend that money. It'll be an economic miracle until the bills come due.

Well, yeah, but apparently they now have time machines, too:

"Not only are the Do Nothing Democrats interfering in the 2020 Election, but they are continuing to interfere in the 2016 Election. They must be stopped!"

"They must be stopped!" Whee

It is interesting watching this Republican Family Feud though:

Key Republicans split with Trump on Biden investigation push

"Sens. Mitt Romney (Utah), Susan Collins (Maine), Ben Sasse (Neb.) and Lindsey Graham (S.C.) have raised concerns, to varying degrees, about launching a politically motivated probe into the Bidens.
...

Romney's sharp remarks about Trump's effort to enlist China in a Biden investigation came a few days after he warned at a closed-door meeting of GOP senators that pushing for an investigation of Biden's son Hunter was treading on dangerous ground that could boomerang on the party.

Romney made the point to lawmakers before the October recess that he's not intimately familiar with the business dealings of his own children, suggesting that politicians should not be attacked because of the private employment of family members, according to a GOP senator in the room during the meeting.

"He said, 'I don't discuss my son's business dealings with them,'" the GOP senator recounted, referring to Romney's comments that he doesn't vet the business and financial conduct of his five sons.

The implied message was that once Republicans go down the path of attacking political rivals over their family members, they open themselves up to the same types of criticisms.
...

But while some Republicans would like to see the media comb through Hunter Biden's business dealings, others like Romney have expressed reluctance about making him and his father the target of official probes — a practice associated more with totalitarian regimes than the United States."

Donald Trump is a criminal.

He was TOLD MANY TIMES that soliciting foreign campaign assistance is illegal. And he chose to do that countless times. On live TV. In recorded phone calls. He asked Russia. He asked Ukraine. He asked China and now Italy. He's obviously deranged somehow because he keeps doing it. Just a week ago he publicly asked China to help investigate Biden for him

People who behave like this belong in prison.

re trump suggesting romney should be impeached:

if trump enthusiasts believe trump once again got the diarrhea of mouth and did not mean to say that, we should have already heard that excuse err explanation by now.

otherwise i have two points:

1. assuming trump enthusiasts believe romney should be impeached, would they at least admit that therefore there is ample reason to impeach trump?

2. what trump has done by naming names wrt romney reminds me of a scene that has been filmed years ago. in a large room, saddam at the podium is giving a speech to the entire baath party and during the speech he would name names. with each name, his goons would grab the guy from audience and take him to be shot or what have you and not to be heard of or seen again.

i am convinced trump would salivate at the prospect of having the power to do with likes of romney and the whistle-blower and schiff and comey and biden and mueller what saddam did to the opposition.

you can see the film for yourself here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLUktJbp2Ug

Shortly after assuming the Presidency of Iraq in July 1979, Saddam Hussein convened a gathering of his Ba'ath Party leaders and publicly had 68 of them removed for alleged treason. Twenty-two of them were subsequently sentenced to death by firing squad.
