I wouldn't trust too much on that either, my brother went to swim with my Pixel 3XL and it stopped working :/ I don't know the details, or whether he hit it or not, but that rating failed.

My galaxy 10+ works great even underwater on a pool.

But yeah, the pixels have the best phone camera in my opinion, I want to buy even a refurbished crappy one to get access to that glorious camera.
Damn.these days..people want to buy phone for camera.. what's next..buy a house if we need a car?😊😊

Seriously I will NEVER buy a US made phone again. That "made in the US" tax kills it. I found a xiaomi phone the "mi a3" for $200 and it's WAY better this this POS for that price. 12MP? Try 48MP back 32MP front and same processoer, 4000 battery, 4gb 128GB, 9.0 stock andriod..... I still shake my head when I see someone shelling out extra for Google, apple, samsung etc.
don't confuse MP for quality. Go read any review, the pixel 3a takes better photos in all conditions comparatively. Also, the mi A3 only has a 720P screen. The Pixel 3a is a better phone, but also costs a good amount more.

with a port-in, I don't want to use T-mobile. Not a comparable deal.

Also, the V35 doesn't come with updates as quickly and an inferior camera.

Just $50+ saving for Pixel 3a is never a slickdeal.

Moreover, couple of days back, pixel 3 was available at $300, so when 3 is available at lesser price, why to go with 3a
link to the deal for the pixel 3 at $300?

Google repair service was a disaster for me. You are at their mercy it seems these days.

i have a pixel 3a from the tmo trade in deal when you traded in a pixel 1 and got a free 3a w/ bill credits

it's a stellar phone but pocket answering has been a huge problem. someone will call me, and then the phone will answer from brushing against the leg pocket. for some reason, the screen is not staying off whereas the proximity sensor on the pixel 1 had no issues

anyone else have this problem with the 3a?
I had this very same problem with my pixel 3a xl. I posted over at xda about it and also there is a feedback support on the pixel in settings. I submitted the issue to google for a fix. Many people have this problem. I actually sold my first pixel 3a xl because of that issue. Everything else on the phone works perfect.

yeah it seems that there is no pocket mode now so when someone calls you the screen comes on in your pocket and the movement results in swiping to answer the call. never had this issue with my pixel 1
proximity sensor works - when on phone call with phone held up the screen turns off when it's close to your head

guessing pixel 4 will be way out of my price range, so will need to consider this. I really wish Google would price their mediocre hardware accordingly. if other manufacturers released timely security and OS patches, I would not even consider pixel

Apart from an extra step or two it's quite a comparable deal. Don't even know why you're bringing up T-Mobile when that deal is with AT&T/Cricket service which if you want to use makes it effectively $150 and if not $205. For porting in you can get a $5-10 dollar Freedom Pop or Ting SIM+service kit, activate it, and use the phone number and account info that generates to port in.

The reality is that, overall, at this price the Pixel 3A is a phone with garbage hardware. For the extra effort with the V35 you get a phone that demolishes this performance-wise, giving a much smoother and faster experience when it comes to everything from opening apps, scrolling and multitasking thanks to having a significantly faster processor and 50% more RAM. Unlike the Pixel 3A the OLED panel in the V35 is at least decent, and with 64GB not being much these days having support for expandable microSD storage is a huge benefit. If you listen to music with headphones you'll also appreciate the Quad DAC.

The pros you list for the 3A are for the most part irrelevant. Updates? The only significant change most people care about with Android 10 vs 9 is the addition of a stock system-wide dark mode and that can easily be implemented on Android 9 with a multitude of themes. Want stock Android? Combine the theme with Nova Launcher. Easy. A digital nanny... I mean Digital "Wellbeing"? If your phone usage is negatively impacting your daily life your issues go far beyond what a digital nanny can help you with. Inferior camera? Pixel 3A's is barely better once you take 2 mins to install GCam on the V35. Video recording is better on LG's V-series but of course you don't mention that. How convenient.

This phone is garbage at this price. If we're being generous the XL version is worth maybe $329 and the regular $249.
