The reality is that, overall, at this price the Pixel 3A is a phone with garbage hardware. For the extra effort with the V35 you get a phone that demolishes this performance-wise, giving a much smoother and faster experience when it comes to everything from opening apps, scrolling and multitasking thanks to having a significantly faster processor and 50% more RAM.
As a owner of both these phone, I can say the v35 does not "demolish" the pixel in performance. Maybe on synthetic benchmarks, but certainly not in day to day usage. In most reviews, people even admit they would never know that the Pixel 3a does not have a flagship SoC.

I agree, all the extra crud that LG adds wipes out the extra RAM and speed.

This is not a deal, there is a deal to get the lg v35 for 150$ with more ram, better processor, and hifi quad dac dont buy this
I have an LG G7 - decided on that since it was half of the price of the Pixel 3 at the time. It took me until 3 weeks ago to get Android 9.0 - I doubt it will see Android 10.

link to the deal for the pixel 3 at $300?
That deal got over 2 weeks back. And as pixel 4 is around, so expect more deal to come for Pixel 3.

You can just installed the gcam port on your s10+.
I obviously did that, and have done it since the port came out, but it's not the same.

Just wait a few more days. There would be incentives to return your phone and get the Pixel 4 for $300 extra or so . And the 3a series would be around $200 - $300 with the upcoming promotions.

I had this very same problem with my pixel 3a xl. I posted over at xda about it and also there is a feedback support on the pixel in settings. I submitted the issue to google for a fix. Many people have this problem. I actually sold my first pixel 3a xl because of that issue. Everything else on the phone works perfect.
Not everything, pixel 3 has many other issues, like Bluetooth and wifi randomly cutting off. The plastic body of the phone is very fragile, inferior to it's older Nexus 6p metal body. Battery life is a joke, you are better off getting an old Nexus 6p for $70-80. Better battery life and it can do everything that pixel can with better zoom, the only difference is the night light photography.

phone does not feel like a $350 phone and has a lot of issues that google has not fixed, yet they are moving forward with the new pixel. everyone who is interested.

phone is not worth it's price, should be selling for less than $300 everyday price

I wouldn't trust too much on that either, my brother went to swim with my Pixel 3XL and it stopped working :/ I don't know the details, or whether he hit it or not, but that rating failed.

My galaxy 10+ works great even underwater on a pool.

But yeah, the pixels have the best phone camera in my opinion, I want to buy even a refurbished crappy one to get access to that glorious camera.
I hope your brother paid you for destroying your phone.

The last couple of Android versions have not had any major differences between them. The "updates" have been far less important. As long as you get bug fixes and security patches, functionally it's the same be it 8.0, 9.0, 10.... Can't speak for others but version updates often stink. You often have to deal with phone performance issues until a patch or patches fix the issues caused by the "update". Sometimes the cost of version innovation isn't worth the hassle. They should only offer a new version of Android when there's something new to offer. Releasing a new version with nothing new because... "it's been a year since the last version release" is just counter productive. They should take more time to innovate. It would be much easier for the phone manufacturers to work on their software and theoretically keep us updated in a timely manner.
