Anything stopping me from ripping open the case and just use the hard drive in my PC?

This coupon code is good for $20 off any purchase over $75, not just this drive.

Coupon does not apply to electronics. Out of luck here.

no, I've done that before... but the drives inside these things aren't 7200RPM, high cache, high reliability drives... they're bottom barrel. That being said, the manufacturers are selling the external units much cheaper than the internal... so it could be of use to someone. Most on this site would recommend to go for 1/4 the size and 10x the speed, and double the reliability via SSD.

And no, that video that someone else posted does not explain the pros and cons of doing so, or how to take apart this specific unit. It's normally a destructive disassembly, yet very easy to pry open.

Coupon code 17260 doesn't work on this.

Use coupon code 18329 to get $10 off 50 and it works, get it to $69.99.
