How does this compare to a Wyze V2? Price is the same so unless Xiaomi is a better camera this doesn't seem like a great deal

Does anyone use this as a baby monitor? Is there a way to ensure only people on the local network can view it?

I use a different model but same app. You can attempt to block the device from connecting to the internet in your router settings (depending on your model) and it'll work locally. Not all brands do but mine does.

I don't want to get political or bias with my statement, by XiaoMi is a company in China. Up to how you feel about it and whatever, up to you. I used some of the XiaoMi cameras before and still do and the application isn't as well (Ui / layour kinda sucks). It gets the job done, but it's just average.

Wyze is an American company with great support and with an active forum. As of now, Wyze continues to push free updates that add great features to their products. Example; Ai detection for people. Wyze has a good focus on privacy. Their entire AI detection is offline and stored in the device it's self. Wyze was flamed up before with sending data to servers in China or some other issues related to that, but since has full control and with the community support, they decided to fix that issue and use other servers.

Wyze also has future support for other products such as Sense and other integrations which you can make your entire home a smart home from just one camera and expand. Don't think XiaoMi goes out that far

Wyze cam is Xiaomi hardware in which they've customized the firmware. That's where the whole sending data to China servers issue came from, which people new to Wyze like to repeat as if it's new info in most every Wyze thread.
