I'm going to have to take out a second mortgage by the time this Sears sale ends. Had been looking to grab a forstner set for a while. This set wasn't originally included in the sale, then dropped to $35.00, and now down to $20.94.

There was $5 in FREECASH that expires today for SYW members that I was able to drop the price to $16.

Thanks OP!
That $5 coupon says order has to be $25 or more. This tool set only totals $21 and it says the coupon was not applied. Thanks anyway.

Anyone know if these are 1/4" or 1/2" shank? Maybe even 3/8"?

It looks like the SYW coupon is different for some. Mine was $5 off $20 so it worked. My store pickup date turned out to be Nov. 29 though so I'm wondering if this is some kind of effort to get people into the store on BF? Is anyone with ship to home getting an earlier date?

After going through a ton of searches trying to find filler for free shipping, I ended up having to start over after applying 9 bucks in freecash from the 5 dollar promotion and 4 from previous purchases.

I ended up with this set plus the 26 dollar Milwaukee hand truck to hit my free shipping quota.

While the "deals" listing doesn't let you search for free shipping, their regular tools page does:
https://www.sears.com/tools/b-102...place=true

That will show you all filler available for free shipping under 50 bucks.

I found these cheap rechargeable batteries too which I was going to buy as filler before changing my order up: https://www.sears.com/diehard-4aa...493063000P

Hopefully this helps folks find filler!

Probably need a drill press for these huh? The shanks look round, not sure my power drill could prevent them from slipping... I've already got a Kreg jig for fostner bits

Most people use them in a drill press. The issue is mostly angle. If you have perfect aim and arms of steel, you could use them in a hand drill.

Paid $17 for a single 1" forstner bit almost 4 years ago on Amazon. Have always wanted the full set of 16 bits, but it was well over $200 bucks for the name brand Freud bits. Pretty amazing to see this entire set of 10 from Sears for $21.. even better I had $10 in surprise points to use making it $11.

Will be interesting to compare the quality of Sears bits to the big name Freud forester bit off Amazon. But considering the price.. this was a no-brainer purpose. For those who have never used these bits you are in for a quite a pleasant surprise. This bits make nice clean holes in thick cuts of wood, with no splinters or dust. You will still need to clean up shavings, but the cut is absolutely perfect. I use them mainly for running cable through joists when installing security cameras, wifi hotspots, ethernet, A/V, HDMI, etc.

Here is what the name brand Freud bits cost on Amazon. They are "precision shear" and engineered for the most perfect cut possible. Hopefully this is a scenario where the cheap Sears bits provide 90% of the performance.. at 10% of the cost. Which is perfect for my needs:https://www.amazon.com/Freud-Prec...0002TUFYK/

I use them in a hand drill with no problems. Just keep it steady and pressure on the rear of the drill. The bit does all the working cuts a perfect hole every time.
