According to this article [bestcordlessvacuumguide.com], it's an excellent vacuum cleaner. On a side note, I am little confused by the description which mentions 6 months warranty from Dyson, but no returns. Worth the risk at this price though.

I guess you have to have reason to return. Not just that you changed your mind..

i bought one of these a couple years back. i told them there was bit of an issue of the vacuum standing up but easily would fall back with a slight pressure. they gave me a return shipping label. i didnt return it in the end. this is a very very good price for this vacuum. once in a while bestbuy has it for 200$. the one i got on ebay from dyson appears brand new. the suction power on this vacuum is very strong and quality is top. you wont be dissapointed.

I ordered a light ball refurb from Dyson via Rakuten for $119 awhile back and it was a complete piece of crap.

It came broken, dirty and defective direct from dyson. They were a huge hassle to deal with, it was clearly defective and dyson refused to replace or return it after requesting repeated videos of it being broken (which i sent.) Ultimately after a month of back and forth I reached out to Rakuten and told them i was going to file a dispute with my credit card company they sent me a shipping label to return it. To date i still havent gotten a refund.

So expect a hassle if you have any issues with dyson refurbs.

But you said Rakuten. This is direct from Dyson store. I'm sure we all have our crappy service stories about any manufacturer. Fact is Dyson vacs do have good professional reviews.

The seller was dyson, all communication was direct with dyson, it just happened to be on rakuten instead of ebay. You can expect a similar crappy experience if you have any issues - if you look at the dyson store reviews for refurbs, they are not great:

https://www.rakuten.com/shop/dyso...nc/review/

https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBay...gative_365

The vacs are fine, this is strictly about the refurbished dyson experience.

Those reviews suck........ Should I hold off for a new one on sale or try my luck at a refurb?

I've had crappy experience purchasing a Dyson. Their customer support is horrendous and unhelpful. Literally had problems the first time opening it up and using it. They placed all blame on me and would hang up on the phone.
