Is the GHJAA.007 model a later version of the GHJAA.002 model that was recently posted? Does anyone happen to know the difference between the two? The specs seem to be identical... at least to my eyes.

Auto Update policy end-of-life is (https://support.google.com/chrome...366?hl=en) is Aug 2021, so not too bad for the price.

Does anyone know the difference between this one and the last one posted? Asking because I have the other one on the way but I'd this is a little better I can still trade it.

good price, but only 2GB memory, both ram and rom seem soldered, unfortunately not upgradable.

I just got the other version GHJAA.002.... I need to send it back. It is wayyyyy to slow. I noticed it upon opening 3 tabs. I couldn't zoom on it. But also everything was just super slowwwwwwww.. I wouldn't recommend this. You do get what you pay for on this deal.

Add some (a lot of) fillers, and you can take advantage of the Staples AMEX offer ($25 off $100 spend).

I was going to go the other way. <2 years before it never gets updates again isn't very long. I'm stuck with an i7 and two i5 chromeboxes and 3 chromebooks that are all EOL and the chrome on them has a severe exploit in it where any web site could potentially take control of the machine. So not usable.

Also, I have a slightly different version of this (531), about to hit EOL that I bought over 3 years ago. I think the only difference is mine is an older celeron cpu. The 768 on a 15" screen isn't very good. Works on 11-12"ers, iffy on 13's and I would strongly recommend a 1080 screen at 15.6. Okay watching video on but text is not crisp at all. My kid liked taking it to school (which offered 11" ones and a BYOCB program). He was just happy that he had the biggest CB in elementary school.

Of course, if you're skilled at taking laptops apart, you can remove the write protect screw, put it in developer mode and put one of the still updated chromebook OS replacements on it. I've gotten a chromebox to boot cloudready from a usb drive but couldn't get it to work installing it to the internal flash. I see some new firmware update tools that might resolve it.

Only issue is dealing with Acer's warranty. It took 7 tries to finally just call it quits and get them to refund my CB in exchange for them receiving the CB back....and that was with the help of Amazon being a 3rd party facilitator. Unless things have changed, they're using a catch-all warranty center in NJ.

You'll get a message asking for pictures/photos of the issue. You'll upload a video of it in action with details of the problem. They'll ship you a box and will tell you its resolved...it won't be. Back and forth you go riding the rodeo.

I'd buy a new/refurb'd Acer again...but only knowing what I paid for is what I'm comfortable with.

I only had one warranty issue with an acer (arrived with broken a/c adapter). I emailed them on a Sunday and got a response in <1 hour, told them what was wrong, they did want a photo of the damage. About 3 days later I got a new adapter in the mail. FWIW.

Just checked on the one I bought over 3 years ago. Older celeron but same passmark performance, same storage and ram, same screen. $130. Will EOL this year.
