This TV is BRAND NEW and has a new panel, new electronics, and an unprecedented mini-led backlight with 1000 zones.

It's the 1st if it's kind and unless you're comparing to OLED, there is no comparison. This TV should be both brighter and have blacker blacks than any LCD/LED/QLED out there except maybe the 2019 Vizio P-series Quantum X, which might be brighter, but won't have as dark blacks.

Unless you need something now and need it to be WAY brighter than OLED, or are afraid of burn-in, I'd wait for real micro-led TVs.

Otherwise, just get the TCL 6-series or an OLED.

Considering Vizio PX65-G is $1200 at my local Costco, $2K seems a bit much. But I'll be looking a reviews and price drops. I'd be interested in seeing if this truly is a "$2k ticket to the panel lottery." I'll be looking to see if this gets good reviews on upscaling. And I already know built in Smart Apps should be good. The thing that scares me about the Vizio is needing to buy an additional box to get the best overall experience. We all know the Vizio panel is a great value but we've been waiting years for Vizio to fail checking some checkboxes to make it a no compromise TV.

Can't really compare the two. The vizio is merely a run of the mill quantum dot TV. This TCL is a new technology. Mini LED with a crazy amount of dimmable zones.

Early reports from trade shows were impressive.

Wonder if they have gotten rid of those dreaded panel uniformity issues many( most) of the 6 series TV's have

Heard a lot of good things about these sets, but wont really know until there's a lot in use and start getting reviews back. TCL is definitely synonymous with high value budget TV but this is a little out of their wheelhouse. Still very interested in where this technology goes...

Sorry I can't see myself spending 2K on a TV that doesn't even support HDMI 2.1. This is a 2019 model, right?

Vizio used to be the same way but nowadays their quantum dot/P series TVs are pretty sexy picture wise. People on here praise Sony all day long and while the picture quality is generally fantastic, myself and my customers have flushed more money down the toilet on Sony's prematurely dying than we've encountered Vizio or TCL issues.

Regardless of the technolog, IMO TCL cant command this price premium. The brand perception is not there. It will be heavily discount sooner or later. I dont think benefit of 1000 zones vs couple hundred will worth this much also.
