Looks like a great deal. I would book directly with the airline if possible as I have found it can cost the same but if there is any need to change reservation the airline charges a fee and the discount ticket company charges a fee.

Did that last year. Hawaiian airlines was pretty awesome over water. The jump flights between islands was sketchy, but fun.

What is the restricted type fare from Hawaiian? Anything to know, i.e. doe they still serve meals on the flight with this fare?

I don't think they are sketchy at all. The planes are small but I find Hawaiian to be comparable if not better than most other American airlines

The planes are much different between islands. I haven't had a domestic flight that had not foam in chairs or carry on storage that wasn't closed.

It wasn't awful, just sketchy.

Our first plane was delayed to OGG because they forgot to do their maintenance checks until we had boarded.

??? Are you sure you are referring to Hawaiian Airlines, rather than one of the smaller carriers?

Hawaiian flies DC-9's / Boeing 717's interisland, with mostly modern interiors, cconventional overhead bins. Coach seating is 2 on one side, 3 on the other, otherwise consistent interior with typical narrowbody jets.

Hawaiian is one of the most efficient commuter carriers in the US, as most of their flights are well under one hour; best on-time record, fewest baggage complaints, always friendly flight attendants, convenient schedules.
Biggest gripe is their fares, which is why competitors regularly enter the market (Southwest is the latest), but none can come close to matching their service. I generally fly interisland on business, happy to pay a small premium (normally $25 - $50) for their schedule reliability.

Yes sir I am. HNL to OGG was just as I described.

The plane was nothing like the anything I had ridden in. The backs of the seats had no padding. A very basic tray table and open overhead bins.
