Rtings seems to rate it pretty good aside from the vertical sound..

for the price it seems like a no brainer...

Ugh...rears have to be wired to the wireless sub. I guess if the soundstage allows the sub to be placed in the rear of the room it will work out ok.

I got these a year ago new from costco for $299. I don't have the right room with vaulted ceilings so atmos wasn't in the cards. I still kept it for the good clear sound on movies and for all the inputs. Baked in chromecast for google home grouping is great. . My big old vizio 5.1 was sounding muddy compared to the crisp dialogue and movie effects. Good strong bass and long wires for satellites. Frequent patches and updates every few weeks.

This or wait until Black Friday/holiday sales when many soundbars always go on sale?

I'm holding out for a deal on the 5.1.4 version. Perhaps 4 upfiring speakers are better than 2!

up firing spkrs have a few caveats. For this trick to work, Dolby says that you need a completely flat and reflective ceiling that is made of either plaster or sheetrock https://www.techhive.com/article/...ained.html
article also explains DTS:X and why this soundbar may never get it, it may need a mic to calibrate. I remember my old vizio had a mic setup.

I went ahead and got one. I figure 90 day return window. If something comes on sale within that time then i'll just return.

rtings just reviews this SB36512-F6 (awful naming conventions by Vizio)

The Vizio SB36512-F6 is a good 5.1.2 soundbar setup. It offers an immersive listening experience thanks to up-firing speakers and Atmos support. Its sound quality is quite good, with a neutral sound profile but with a bit of extra bass. The bar can get loud enough for all types of content, but the height speakers aren't as loud as the other speakers, meaning it can be hard to hear the height sound effects. On the upside, this soundbar has lots of connectivity options, but the surround speakers need to be wired to the wireless sub.
similar to what I said but I didn't mention the buggy app. It tries too hard and you only need it to set it up and FW is automatic over my WiFi. Also I might ad the remote isn't great and it won't work with some rechargeable batteries, use alkaline.

Mine came yesterday. Double boxed, Inside box said certified refurb by Vizio, it looked as good as new to me. Ordered at $239.99 came down before I received product, called Amazon they said they can't match, I said should I refuse and reorder, he said he would give me a $10 credit in my acct. fair enough!
Unbelievable sound, I replaced a LG sk8y I've had for a year but it didn't have 4k pass-through or Dolby vision as my Vizio P Series did, I've got it hooked to apple 4 k tv and it asks if I wanted to use dolby vision after I connected. Works like a charm, BUT just checked price and it's now up to $249.99, might be further ahead now to wait for Black Friday, this model is over a year old now and price could be even a little under the $300 mark for a new one instead of refurb.

Got mine today too (at original price that I posted) same as you described, and funny enough replacing a ‎LG ‎SL9Y SoundBar that I loathed for many reasons that I ended up returning. In my humble opinion, this is way better sounding, and the surround speakers work perfectly for my need.

I have the LG SL9Y and it's been bad. I wasn't sure if it was my TV or soundbar but I'm going to return. Wish I would have jumped on this now...

Not only did it "sound" bad in my opinion, especially compared with an older LG soundbar we have downstairs. But, the forced privacy intrusion of the Google Home crap, we couldn't stand it, sent it right back.
