Thoughts or reviews anyone? I'm interested in getting this for a simple personal laptop! I don't really need the touch screen tho!

What do you plan on using it for...?

This model probably has 100% sRGB, so I assume it's intended for photo editing, art, design, etc. The GPU, as weak as it is, can still handle hw accel better than a UHD620 iGPU.

I have last year version 7550 from Costco. Got it for around $1000.

Its good screen and performs fine for most use cases. Its battery sucks though because of 4k. Barely I was getting 3-4 hours when new. After 1.5 years of use, battery is completely gone, barely lasts 30 minutes.

Costco extended warranty is useless.

It seems like they outsourced communication to some run of the mill company called Alorica. Completely unresponsive.

Overall my advice is, this is decent laptop but if you dig stunning screen, get XPS. I have not compared next to each other but XPS 4k looks better at bestbuy.

Honestly probably online shopping, light reading, studying (online based review course and note typing). Possibly some work tasks which are heavily Excel based.

I realistically do not need a fast processor but I have gotten used to my work laptops where I run large Excel data files frequently. I just wouldn't like something where I can see the noticeable slowness... if that makes sense!

Too bad it's not 1080p as I don't need 4k in a screen this size and definitely don't want to take the hit in battery life.

You'll love the 4k resolution for side by side spreadsheets and office apps.
I had a 3k for work and went to 1920x1080...it's almost unusable for me now.

You don't need something with a dedicated video card. Find something lighter and with a longer battery life. You can go premium and score an xps for 200-250 more or go lighter with no video card for ~500

Greasy fingers on 4k are not a good mix.. they should swap the touch sensor for 1050ti or better!!

Beware of battery life considering the 4K screen

Also CPU throttles and overheats. Dell's mobile designs have been pretty bad the last few years.
