I bought this at my local costco for $29 recently. Granted, it's not as well-reviewed and doesn't have the name, but it has worked just as well (held ice as long) as a friend's Yeti soft cooler.

Which is it? The page for soft coolers says nothing about where they're made, unlike the page for hard coolers. This would lead me to believe persian mafia's correct.

Also, the soft cooler only gets a 3 year warranty vs lifetime for hard.
I quoted a section from their website. It's made "overseas"

I have both the Pelican and Yeti softcoolers. It's different than a roto moulded cooler. Depending on ice capacity, you can get at least day with these soft coolers. It does transmit heat/cooling. Aka, if you pre-chill these soft coolers overnight, the floor underneath where the soft coolers were sitting, it will be -cold-.

The latter (roto moulded coolers), a easy week . MUCH MUCH Heavier

We regularly go on extended camping trips for fishing and hanging out and have been using our heavy RTIC cooler for drinks and food. This will be so much lighter and more convenient for extended trips. Great deal

The zippers are brutal on soft-side coolers...I've tried Yeti, RTIC, Ozark, etc. They want to make them seal so the zippers are a super hard pull. Kids can't open them, most females have a hard time opening them, etc.

The new YETI magnet soft coolers look interesting. I'm done with soft-side zipper coolers.

These are not replacements for -extended- day trips IMO.
They are replacements for lighter alternatives for a day tripper or 2 day with lotsa ice/freezer packs ......they cool/heats does transfer through the soft material. It's our go to for the weekend outings, grocery shopping, etc.

ClownBaby is spot on the zippers, It takes ALOT of force -parallel- to the zipper tugging to the handle to open or close them . More often that not, just for the casual use, we don't even zip them close. Just some ice packs, some contents, and the lid down if it's a 2hr grocery run.

Why? Serious question. I get the need for serious campers and fishermen. But a $100 12 can cooler? Why...
If everyone though like you, the economy will most likely fail and we will be a society of need and not want. Like mentioned a million times before, people want luxury items because they can, no explanation necessary
