I think it is programmable, or at least there's a basic timer. Is that what you meant?
Yeah. I mean, does it start brewing coffee automatically at 7:15 am when I wake up? I dunno if "delay brew" counts as programmable. Hard to figure out.

Warming plate and a glass carafe kill the deal for me. I've gotten used to thermal carafes, even if the thermal loses a little of the warmth the coffee is so much better when it's not "cooked down" into a tar

I use a French press. I'm waiting for a "can't miss" deal like this, but I'd like it to be programmable. I feel like waking up to fresh coffee filling the house would be a game changer.
Maybe buy one that turns on by plugging in and then use a smartplug for turning it on automatically at a specific time in the morning

Ah. Yes. This is helpful. eBay didn't give a good description. It is programmable but you can't turn the heating plate off after having a programmed brew without unplugging the machine.

I think the conclusion is this is a luxury item with some drawbacks that may be a dealbreaker. It's not super flexible in terms of technology, it's maybe too large for no reason, and the power chords is short.

I'm going to give it a shot despite Best Buy's 2 week return window. It'll probably never get cheaper than this.

I can never get the right measurements down for my press. Any tips?

We have this in the break room at work. I think the only gripe is we have to pull it out from under the cabinets to add water. The auto off is nice so we don't constantly burn the last bit of coffee no one wants to seem to take.

I don't. Sorry. I make mine the same way every day, but I don't measure. I've just eyeballed it with the same whole bean coffee and same budget grinder for years.

a lot of comparisons to regular machines & flaws (too big, 4 hour shutoff, mechanical issues). I'd say MSRP is a pipe dream. This is a $60 coffeemaker on sale for $40.

This is exactly the same issue I had. I ended up with this one. I have not had any of the not hot coffee issue other people have.

It's been great, brewing a cup every day for about a month now. I would say its a poorman technovorm.
