Reply to Private Message not showing in Sent Items

152 18 October 9, 2019 at 10:26 AM
I sent a PM to a user yesterday (which shows up in Sent), and I got his reply. But I replied again and it didn't show up in my Sent. I hit the back button a few times and my original reply was still there, so I copied it, backed out completely (still logged in), and replied again (pasting it in and adding a disclaimer to disregard if he got the first reply). Neither are in my Sent Items, and he hasn't replied, so I'm trying to figure out if it was actually sent or not.

Despite his original response being nothing but cordial, I wondered if he blocked me. So I tried to send him a brand new PM, and I was able to compose one. I didn't actually send it as it was just a test, but I'm assuming if he did block me, I wouldn't have even been able to compose it (unless it would have just bounced back or errored out).

Go into classic view, profile>settings & options> scroll down to Private Messaging and check the box that says "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default",
It won't bring back the ones you already sent but it will help for the future.

Not saying you're wrong, but why on earth should I have to turn on a feature that savea my sent messages in my sent items folder?! Every messaging system for the last 25 years has done that automatically.

Also, the original message I sent him shows in my Sent Items, just not the replies.

I didn't have to go into any classic view (not even sure where that is), but I found it under Settings -> Edit Options.

Thanks for letting me know. Although that is beyond stupid that a user would need to turn that on.
