Fishing near Disney, Orlando, FL

2,671 999 October 9, 2019 at 10:39 AM

I'm heading to Disney Orlando in a few weeks, not staying on Disney property.

Anyone know of anyplace where i can rent some gear and just fish my with daughters (10,8,5) for a few hours? I don't need a full on charter. I know there is one Disney resort that rents poles and stuff but do you have to be staying at a Disney resort to do this?

I would like somewhere within 30 minutes of the Orlando area, if possible.

thanks in advance.

There are two Disney resorts that offer dock fishing - Port Orleans Riverside and Fort Wilderness. If you're looking for something more low-key and cheap, that would be your better bet.

You can charter a boat to fish from a number of resorts that border the water. That'll cost you a minimum of $235 for your group.

You don't need to be an on-property guest to fish in either of the above capacities.

I found some more info about on-site fishing here:

If you have any further Disney questions, I'd encourage you to check out disboards or you're always welcome to PM me.
