Ebay charged me $13.52 as tax. Is this normal? I haven't seen tax on Ebay for quite some time.

This has been a good all in one device for a kids room: white noise, air circulation, filtering, and overnight heat in winter. All with no exposed fan blades or not surfaces to worry about. The MSRP is crazy given the all plastic build, but at this price it's a worthwhile purchase for that kind of use.

Been using a refurb of this every day for about 9 months, and no issues at all. One thing to note is Dyson on eBay often offers 20 percent discounts on top of these shifting prices, especially during holiday sales, so you can occasionally get this model for $130 or less after coupon. We got ours during one of those periods.
I agree. I think there was just a 20% not too long ago.

I have learned that "Refurbished" means a very different thing to people.
Sometimes, you'll get lucky and you'll get a new open box item. Other times, they'll send you a used, scuffed up item that resembles something that you'll find in a pawn shop and then there's the in-between.

I believe it depends on the merchant & their physical footprint, not specifically eBay

Also a lot of states now collect sales tax when they didn't before in order to close this footprint loophole. The playing field has been leveled quite a bit in recent years

I bought a refurbished HP02. It has a tiny scuff on the actual unit. Other than that, looks good,

At $162 for a second hand fan (non-wifi version) with a bad/non-existent return policy and dubious condition, I would rather pay the extra money and buy the HP02 (with wifi + peace of mind).

Hmm this or the costco winix air purifier? The replacement filters on the Dyson is cheaper. The Dyson does have a fan and heater but I don't need that feature.

I actually just bought this Levoit Core 300 [amazon.com] for $85 after this post got me looking at air purifiers. Decently thorough review here [breathequality.com]

Been wanting to try an air purifier after feeling so congested @ home & waking up in the morning lately. Filters are much less expensive than these dyson ones also.

If this is the same model I have been researching the filter even online is like $50-$70 that needs to replace either every six months or year depending on usage. I have a honeywell air purifier large unit that has a lifetime filter and just needs to be cleaned and replaced active charge outside filter. I really like the remote and app link model tho that's why I'm torn

I bought one of these last go around. The unit itself with faint scratches along the sides as it was slid across the floor multiple times. Cosmetically it was a 6/10 but it functions without any issue. For the price it's worth it in my opinion , just don't expect it to look pretty

I'm debating with myself on which way to go. The issues with this unit:

- claims that the fan/ heater aren't effective as you'd expect if you aren't close to it
- claims that the unit could malfunction break after the warranty is up. Then you are s-o-l
- the fact that you can't return it if you don't like unit cosmetically.

Practically speaking, I really need something for my allergies. The fan/heater, design and size are just added bonuses.

I'll pulled the trigger. Aftermarket filters on amazon are $29 for two filters.
