Was gonna purchase until I read some of these comments. I don't mind the odds of getting one in good/poor condition, it's more so the hassle they give you if you need to return.

The issue with this model is that there is no Auto setting. I have one of the newer Dyson purifiers and it runs when it needs to. This you would consciously need to turn on and off.
That may be a deal breaker for some, like myself, so just wanted to put that out there.
Wrong. What are you talking about "no auto setting"? You set the temperature you want and it maintains it.

For you owners reading this:. Can I use on a covered porch to keep me and a few people warm for an hour or two? My wife has this option for a work anniversary gift and we're not sure what to get. Don't have a gas table firepit yet but may get one in the future. Maybe this would be good to run behind the circle of people sitting around the fire?

Not meant for outdoors. It's for enclosed indoor spaces. The fan circulates air so it heats up the air by recirculating it making it warmer. Outdoors it'll just keep on blowing warm air and the people farthest will be getting cold air pushed at them.

I will NEVER buy Dyson refurbished again. Bought their hair dryer and it died on me in 10 months. The listing clearly says 12 months warranty. But when I called and try to have it fixed they said it's only 6 months. Even if you look at their dryer listing, it says 12 months. They wanted $390 to fix! I LOL. I filed a report with ebay, they said the can't do anything. Tried contacting Dyson ebay and they ask for more info. I send them the info and they don't respond back. I tried to file a warranty claim from Chase Reserve credit card and they said it's a 1 year warranty and will not approve my claim. Never again with dyson refurbished crap. Btw, reas the reviews and you will see lots of bad reviews about these things just stopped working.

Doesn't Chase Reserve give you additional 1 year warranty?

Same thing happened to me. Bought the HP02 from EBay, same brown box and dents/scuffs. They gave me the same response. I ignored their "no returns" and filed a return with EBay. Demanded free shipping back and got my refund. Don't settle for their "refurbished" beat up fans.
Similar story here. I bought the HP02 from a couple months ago, and the unit had its scuffs and scratches. Last week it stopped working, luckily I'm still within the 6 month warranty period and will receive the new one this week. I'm hoping it's in better condition than the first one. Like someone else said, definitely nice, but not worth the msrp price, especially if it has quality issues.

Yes. But they said the dryer is still under manufacturer's 1 year warranty so they denied my claim. The only option I have is to refile the claim and show them it's a 6 month warranty or wait until 1 year and then file the claim.

Anyway the point is that this is causing me so much time and effort. This is why I would suggest not to buy from dyson outlet (especially from ebay). They are hard to deal with if something goes wrong. No direct contact number. Everything is done via email or through ebay messaging. But the worst part is they ignore your messages and do not respond.

If you need an air purifier, get an air purifier. This is just a fan/heater with a filter. This isn't an air purifier.
the filter inside is hepa and carbon, most air purifiers have this and that is all. Why would this be any different than a small air purifier(like the winix)
