How's this compared to the basket style air fryer?
The dirty little secret for air fryers is that if you want things to really crisp up they have to be in a single layer. All those pictures showing baskets full of fries? Those are not going to get crispy like you'd want. But a layer of fries or tater tots of whatever sprayed with a bit of cooking oil are surprisingly close to deep fried.

An air fryer is just a convection oven so you get the same results in either, but ovens that have multiple racks give you more usable space. I replaced my air fryer with a convection oven and prefer it.

I had Cuisinart, now it's in basement after I got Panasonic flashexpress 7 years back and still going strong. Often Amazon has it for sale for $79
I have separate air fryer which is also not used as much

Thanks. It's very helpful. I'm now starting to debate whether I should get this one or the Instant pot vortex. I really don't like the knobs. They look like something from 90's...

I purchased this air fryer/toaster last year and found the temperature control to be all but useless. It would not maintain the set temperature, fluctuating by 200 degrees or more. Returned it for a refund.

I was put off at first by them too (wife bought one of these last year, we love it). Before this we had a Krups unit, and after a few years the labels on the buttons were worn off between high use and high temperatures. I don't expect the same thing to occur with the dials. It is a little harder to get an exact time however.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!! I almost jumped on the $136 Amazon deal yesterday but wanted to hold our for Kohl's.

I do ALL of my cooking in this oven now. I have a high end range and hardly ever use it. This thing is phenomenal for cooking bone-in chicken thighs, pork chops, roasting Brussels and all kinds of other keto foods. I've never had more tender protein and so quick.

Now I have one to take to work so I never have to microwave my lunches. Thank you!

Repped!!

Does anyone know if I can take advantage of 30% (GOLDEN30) and new card member discount (35%) together in store?

To answer my own questions...
1) Yes and no. The 15% has a barcode so I could get that, but the 30% didn't, so i couldn't get that.
2) Yes, in general. However, my credit was frozen, so my application was denied.
By the way, you CAN use the 30% in store by loading it up on your Kohl's app wallet (it gives you a barcode to scan when you do that).

for current owners, during the bake cycle, my top element comes on as well as the bottom. I don't think it should do this, as food browns before it's done IMO. Has anyone else noticed this?

This device is fantastic. It effectively replaces my conventional oven. It heats up extremely quickly. I've cooked chicken legs in the convection oven setting that turned out truly amazing. Frozen tator tots come out perfectly. It can really do the job on frozen or fresh foods, you have to experiment a little bit. I set the temperature about 40 or 50 degrees less than what I would set a conventional oven at. It gets hot Uber quickly and goes a bit overboard. I'm happy with this machine and use it all the time. The best part is it makes cooking super easy. Season, pop in the food, close the door, turn a few knobs and the food comes out great with minimal effort.

Got this last time.
Use this prob every day. Anything you need to do it's ready and works great. 4.5 stars
Why it's not perfect
It reallly looks like you could do multiple trays. But with most things you need drip tray and that really limits batch size.
Timer
This should be digital
You wouldn't think 30 seconds would matter but but the knob inaccuracies
There's a digital version available [kohls.com] but it's quite a bit more.

Does anyone know if this is a legit store?

http://arecastore.com/cuisinart-a...el-toa-60/

Did a quick google search on the address, looks like it's a scam/non-existent store.

I have both and I really like the basket style air fryer for fried foods like chicken nuggets and fries. This appliance I only use in place of the oven in summer months. It bakes way faster, but I think it doesn't air fry well.
