My opinion is that for heavy duty tools you should almost always buy a corded tool. How often are you going to use this where you can't access power? Corded tools in the same price range will be more powerful, won't have the need to swap batteries and will last forever. You'll be able to use a corded rotary hammer drill twenty years from now, definitely can't say that about these battery run tools. If for some reason I need to use it somewhere I don't have power then I'll use my generator.

Of course if you are in this ecosystem and need batteries anyway with this deal you pick a few and get a useful tool.

I bought a corded Makita 1" last year and it has served me well.

Would you happen to have a picture?

Never mind. I found the signage. I'll post the picture later.

I have the corded version of this (SDS rotary hammer). It has worked flawlessly and does everything I could ever ask of it. I did purchase an SDS adapter so that it could also handle standard bits (SDS bits are not cheap).

I have the 1 1/8" corded version. I bought it for $200 to do kitchen/bath tile demolition and random drilling into bricks. Is this much less powerful? Debating selling to get this version. I'm not a pro, just a DIYer. Thoughts?

The dust collector looks very similar to the one for Milwaukee M18 hammer drills. Have one for mine and never used it. Seems to be more trouble than it's worth.

However, this is a great deal if you're looking for a hammer drill and dust collection system.

This is probably more powerful than you will ever need. My Milwaukee cordless is 1 1/8" and the other one at work is 1" and I don't really notice any difference.

Good deal, just wish Bosch would go back to including the BC1880 charger in the kits instead of this new (slower) charger.

Hmm.. I do appreciate the battery aspect of this and you're probably right about the power. Do you think I can unload the 1 1/8 for $200 on CL or FB market? It has not been used. Literally brand new with the case and all

Question. Would I be able to use the 1 1/8" bulldog to easily break up a 4" thick pad of concrete (approx 8' x 6')?

You have the option of getting an 8ah battery free in place of the dust extractor kit. I just picked that combination up in the store. The 8ah battery did not appear as an option looking online for me.

Good to know that you can pick up in store. You can use a $20 off coupon too probably.

That's the 1" which is normally $200... I'm talking about the 1 1/8" which is normally ~$259

Was there any signage about the battery deal?
