These headphones are hand crafted "Made in Germany". For an in-depth review, head over to Head-Fi. This offer also beats our previous front page deal by $40. ~ persian_mafia

These headphone deals have to stop - my wallet will leave me. That being said - anyone have these and can provide feedback at a $300 price? Also, is BuyDig a certified reseller?

+1, and the 1990 comes with balanced and analytical pads too so you can tailor the sound to fit your mood. Oh and it is a lot better looking HP too.

That said, the Amiron home can be used with a balanced cable if that is important to some.

Does anyone know how these hold up after some use? I know some Sony models are prone to flaking or deteriorating material.

Wow. This looks like a great deal for this type of overears headphones. Anyone knows if this product would hold up for heavy usage?

I've owned a lot of headphones (including the Beyerdynamic DT 880 but not this model), and for my money the Sennheiser/Massdrop HD 58X ($160) may be the last pair of open headphones I'll buy. Sounds great, fairly comfortable, works well even with smartphones (this 250 ohm Beyerdynamic probably won't get loud enough with many smartphones). You have to spend a lot more for even a marginal increase in sound quality.

I have owned 5 different Beyerdynamic headphones over the years and all of them have been quite well built and are pretty modular if something does break. Using them for daily listening at a desk or at home and these should last for many years if not abused. If you are planning on using them during the Iditarod or in a coal mine, you should probably consider a cheaper model.... Wink

If you are referring to the earpads/headband flaking, no, the Amiron Home will not do that. Pleather (protein or synthetic leather) is the stuff that flakes and the Amiron uses "microvelour" according to their marketing materials and looks like it's a cross of velour and alcantara/microsuede. Most reviews gush about how soft and comfortable this headphone is.
