Been looking for a deal on a food processor for a while. Anyone have feedback on this unit? The price looks great, $104 new on Amazon, $92 for a refurbished unit.

I have both the Cuisinart and KitchenAide food processors (long story), and while I have a slight preference to the KA one, they're both good. Way back in the day, the Cuisinart was by far the best for the home cook (basically a home version of the Robot-Coupe); the ones from the last 10 years aren't quite that quality, but it's still a great machine.

Here's a very informative video on Food Processors that's worth watching just to get a feel for features and performance things to look for. It's old and the models covered are high end $$$, but still very informative IMHO. https://youtu.be/cuo3UQdaxZQ

I just picked up the Cusinart 14 in this vid in an incredible deal (probably can't be duplicate or I'd have posted it) but I'm having some minor second thoughts. I'm confident this is a great perfomer - it's a top recommendation by ATK. But there are some short comings as far as versatility goes (blades are static-not adjustable, no small bowl for this model, dough blade is $15 extra, and additional blades are limited and expensive. This vid really makes these issues clear and that's why I feel it's worth watching if you're in the market for a Food Processor, even if you're looking for less expensive models.

I have that as well and for a non-refrigerated unit, it's pretty good. The quantities it makes are fairly small, but for the occasional use at home I'm happy with it. Generally a deal for new is around $35-40 range so refurb at $25 is pretty solid.

Just bought the ice cream maker, and it's worth noting that it came with a free 1 year extended warranty.

Thank you for the excellent response. I don't have the time to watch the whole 38 minute video you posted, and the SlickDeal effect is hitting me on this one. My plan is basically just for routine stuff. Making hummus, pureeing soups, grinding meat, etc... I'm not a baker, so I'm not interested in dough hooks, etc... I think this will do the trick. Even a slicker deal that I've never bought from BuyDig before and ended up with a $10 coupon as well.

I have had our ice cream maker for 5 years. It makes a decent amount and makes darn good ice cream.

Ordered the DCC-3200 Coffeemaker ($30) as a backup for when my $18 Mr. Coffee bites the dust.

This deal looks like a buy with the best intentions and never open the box deal. All good prices, but I simply cannot let the slick deals effect talk me into any more kitchen gadgets.

Thanks, bought a couple of the mini processors since I wasn't convinced I would use the larger and more expensive ones. But for garlic, onions, dips and salsa, I think it will save me some time. Giving the other as a gift. Thanks, OP.
