Ok buckle in because there really isn't a lot of info out there on this vacuum. I say that because all the of the shark website reviews were for free products. Then bed bath and beyond just takes those reviews and posts them on their website so it looks really good until you dig down. Amazon has a similar issue. Most of those were from free products. EVEN the vacuum wars video was biased. Now I give him credit he did mention that shark paid him to do an infomercial for them, so you knew where he stood at least.

I got this vacuum from bed bath and beyond on the 3rd with the 20% off coupon so it was $483 out the door. I am returning that one this week because I just placed an order with Kohls because with the Kohls cash and the return policy, this is a no brainer for me. I like this vacuum and I want to keep it but here are my thoughts.

Pros: It cleans good, I dont have another robot vacuum to compare but it does well.
The auto empty dock is great, and thats why all of us are looking at this vacuum vs the other cheaper ones. Now sometimes it will leave a dust bunny hanging off the butt of the robot because it didn't vacuum it all out on the dock but its not a big issue.
It cleans in a good pattern. The vacuum wars video shows this and its on point
Has an auto return and dump feature. Seems like it will return and dump every 30 mins while cleaning
Cons: THE APP IS GARBAGE. Let me say that I love the cleaning of this robot but I will keep the receipt in the box because if the app doesn't get better then its going back.
When I say the app is garbage I mean it. Like I said it will dump every 30 mins but it doesn't tell you this on the app. If you check the app it just says docking. When it docks the elapsed time will reset so you don't know if its going back to clean or anything. This is also a problem when its cleaning and has to charge. I have no clue if its going back to finish its route or is it done with the job. Maybe this wont be an issue after I've got the map perfect and I wont have to check the app all the time.
The schedule feature is there but you can't set the vacuum power for the schedule. I say this because maybe you wanna use it every day but have it run on lower power setting because you have a big house, well you cant set low power on the schedule. Maybe you have a small apartment and wanna run it on the highest setting every time.
There are no no-go zone settings. Someone says that they are gonna add this later on but I dunno if you wanna take their word for it.
It took 20 runs to get a "map" of the house. This map isn't very good but you can view the individual history of each day and see what it cleaned. Now some of the days it is perfect! I wish I could select one of those maps. I ran this as much as I could because I wanted to get my map laid out so I could block off rooms. I can't close the bedroom doors because they are next to my air handler. I am hoping that I can say just clean the living room and it will leave my daughters rooms alone, and I don't like the ugly robot strips it comes with. From what I have read though, I wont get my hopes up.
Believe the reviews, its loud. This isn't the deal breaker for me because it will run while we are at work. Its more of the wheels and not really the suction part. Its actually really quiet on the carpet. Also I have just regular carpet in the rooms and I thought this was supposed to get more powerful on the carpet, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Still works good in there.
Now I'm a pessimist for most electronics, but I like this vacuum and I hope the app gets better because I wanna keep it. If you have any other questions, I'll try and help. The app tells me that its run for 20hours, 20 runs and 11559sqft cleaned so I've used it a decent bit lol.

TLDR: The app SUCKS, but the vacuum is good
Edit: just picked it up and it's the same model number as the shark website 101AE. Kohl's website must just be a type.

Jumped on this. Replacing an old Roomba 561 that's been a workhorse for us. The features of this make it very appealing: anti-hair tool on the brush roller, self empty base, app control and Alexa integration, double front brushes, and reviews noting a very strong suction force (20 cfm). Coming from a 7+ year old Roomba to this, should show great improvements, and at the price I was able to get, it's a no-brainer.

Here's my break-down:
Subtotal $554.48 ($549.99 Shark IQ + $4.49 Play-Doh Filler, you'll see why I did this later)
HOME15 -$82.50
35% New Kohl's CC -$160.13
YOUGET10 -$10.00

Shipping FREE (Opted for Store Pick-Up Today)
Sale Tax $18.11 (Iowa 6%)

Total $319.96

Additional Rewards
$60 Kohl's Cash (10/17 - 10/27) - Play-Doh addition got me from $50 to $60
$15 / 302 Yes2You Rewards (11/1) - Play-Doh addition got me to my next 100 pt mark ($5)
9% Rakuten urlhasbeenblocked (Pre-tax purchase of $301.85 = $27.17 in Rewards)

We fully plan on using the Kohl's Cash and Rewards to do some Christmas shopping there, so in my mind the net-net for this vacuum is $213.30 with tax included. Kids are in love with Play-Doh at the moment, so that will be used immediately, and when they inevitably leave dry pieces on the floor/carpet, this vacuum will clean it up, lol. laugh out loud

I've also searched our local Facebook marketplace and have seen that I can get about $100 out of our old Roomba 561 (Recently installed a new battery and brushes), so going even further and considering that, my final total could really be only $113.30.

THAT, is how I Slickdeals. woot

Good deal OP. got 2. $130 kohls "cash" if you get 2, also yes2you rewards ($5 for each $100 spent). These rewards & kohls cash are nowhere near cash equivalent, but worth at least 50% face value.

Note everyone else sells R101AE. Judging by model number, is R100AE older model?

I just got my shark from the last deal.

Guess I'm getting this one unless I want to use the Costco card warranty. Damn $100 cheaper.

Two things to note: kohl's give you 180 days for returns and at least in my area are pretty easy going about it.
But you won't be refunded the value of the kohl's cash if you spent it. I had issues with a deebot I got from kohl's and they were great about it.
Small thing I just bought one of these and at least on my unit the self cleaning hair thing is a bit loud

It's cheap. But it's rated as better or comparable than an i7 or s9+.

Aka the top of the line.

If you've ever wanted a robo vac, get this one.

The rep at the store just did it for me, not sure how but they both applied. Try going In store and doing it, it's really easy and most have it in the stock. Word of warning though, if the stock says "limited stock" it's most likely the display model or they haven't put them out yet. The store I went to had 4 out on the shelf, not pricing yet even.
