Datashark network tester for RJ45 YMMV $7

Home Depot had about 6 of these on clearance from $27 down to $7. This rang up at my local for $7. If you find one, well done. Enjoy. Possibly a once off tool for most. I'll try and post pics, but am on a plane using my phone. Looks like a tempo SKU of 820-028 on the sticker, but this is an absolute bargain

I need a clearance sale on a cable tester that does more than RJ45, including audio jacks, XLRs, USBs even MIDI... I'm 34 yo, so price error items are welcome. Thanks

FYI... as someone who works in IT. These aren't even worth $4. They're hot garbage.

Why isn't it worth $7.00?

Does it not do what it says it does?

It says it will identify "good connections" which is not going to help you troubleshooting cabling-related network problems. This device is an RJ45 continuity tester - 1 type of test on 1 type of cable.

I respectfully disagree, these are very good if all you want to do is build or test RJ45 patch cables. $7 seems a bit high though, think I paid $4 for mine.

I also disagree. Besides a quick check of patch cables, if you have RJ45 in you attic/walls it takes minutes to test continuity. If it's open you know you have a problem and can do further testing or replace.
I think I paid around $4-5 on The E Bay.

Paid around $5 for a similar one at Microcenter. I pulled Cat6 all through my house and it worked perfect for terminating and testing keystones.
