I have two $40 ink recycling rewards to use. They won't work online. The chat person claims I can use them at the kiosk.

Anyone know if I can use the $20/$75 at the kiosk and if I need to have $75 that rewards are not applied to or will I get to use rewards?

  1. Login from home/smartphone
  2. Add 3 cases and the 5 digit coupon code
  3. Go into store login to account at kiosk
  4. Select pay at register and use Ink Rewards in store.

If you have a 16 digit coupon you can enter that at the kiosk instead of the 20/75 5-digit

Fantastic! Will the register print a balance coupon or should I plan on using the entire rewards?

Why would the $40 ink recycling not work online?

Worked great! Got a balance coupon for my second reward which was over the total.

Thanks so much!

"Staples. That was easy!" Not so much now. More like "Staples. That was sleazy!"

Going to "Staples Rewards" section and clicking on "Add to Order" works fine for me. Also if I enter the code From viewing cart> coupons and rewards it works for me.

My guess is you were not able to overpay with the 2nd reward certificate. That is not a new rule.
Office Depot allows partial payment from a rewards certificate online but Staples hasn't ever allowed leaving you a balance on one like OD.

For Staples online, you must use the whole certificate at once or not at all.
"New rules" is most likely referring to Base and Premier members not being able to use Ink Recycling rewards online anymore.

Rewards are issued online monthly in increments of $5. Rewards expire the last day of the month following the month of issuance, at the end of the day ET and cannot be redeemed after the expiration date. Monthly balances of less than $5 will roll over through the end of the following calendar quarter. Unissued rewards will expire at the end of the following calendar quarter, unless a qualifying purchase is made. Rewards are issued within 30 days after the end of the calendar month. Rewards may be redeemed at any Staples store, online at staples.com® with a minimum purchase of $100 or more (prior to the application of rewards), or by phone at 800-333-3330 by the expiration date printed on your reward. Recycling Rewards are not redeemable online for Base and Premier Members. Rewards are not redeemable for cash. Staples is not liable for unclaimed or expired rewards. Staples Rewards® cannot be redeemed for or applied against cash, taxes, credit remittance, shipping charges, custom printing orders placed online, promotional products, any purchases made on design.staples.com, documents.staples.com, design.staples.com/promotional-products/, gift cards, prepaid phone cards, postage stamps, prior purchases, Staples Industrial(sm) purchases, purchases made on staplesmobile.com, or purchases on third-party websites. Rewards earned after application of all promotions, coupons, rewards redeemed, and instant savings, and are not earned on taxes and shipping charges. (To the extent that product-specific coupons were applied pro rata in a transaction in the past for the purposes of calculating qualifying purchase amount(s) for Rewards, this means such coupons were proportionately allocated across all items purchased in a given transaction). Rewards are not available to Staples Advantage® customers or to Staples® employees. The sale, barter or transfer of rewards, except by Staples, is expressly prohibited. Abuse of the Program may result in legal action, cancellation of the member's account, exclusion from the Program, forfeiture of all rewards accrued, and liability for past rewards redeemed. If reward is not redeemed in full on in-store purchase, a one-time-only coupon with the expiration date of the original reward will be printed for any remaining balances of $1.00 or more. No balance coupon will be given on online or phone orders. Balance coupon may be used for future store orders. Expired rewards cannot be reissued. Staples reserves the right to modify, revise or cancel the Program at any time without prior notice.

No...……… that's not it. NO ink rewards can be used online. I'm a premier status which I got from spending over $1000.

This is probably my last month recycling at staples. Not trying to keep my premier status, just going away.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. I will remove the wrong guess comment. Staples basically forcing folks to enroll in Business Plus to be able to use rewards online now. That is pushy! I might have seen this in a PSA and forgot.

Right, basically requiring payment to use ink rewards online. Buying $1000 means nothing now.

BUT...………. I was able to go to the kiosk to buy it which is basically buying online...…… just a hassle to drive to the store to do it.
