Same price at Lowe's [lowes.com], which says "New Lower Price" and not that it's a sale price. Shipping shows up as free as is store pickup, of course (there's two in store near me).

It's $365 at Walmart [walmart.com] through a third-party seller.

Thanks for alerting us to this price. Though I'm kinda turned off by a couple of the 1-star reviews on Lowe's.

I am not familiar with this brand. Is it good? Is the battery interchangeable with any other brand? Thanks.

It's a Stanley Black and Decker brand. On the lower end of the spectrum. Personally, I believe SBD's Craftsman line is replacing this and Porter Cable will likely not be getting too many new tools. Could be wrong, of course.

But... a good set of tools for a good price, I'd have no reason not to recommend scooping it up. Not to mention Lowes has had some great prices on additional batteries for the system. At that price for the tools included I'd say go for it.

Oh and the battery isn't cross compatible to my knowledge, though I'd believe it if someone made an adapter to make them work with other SBD offerings.

The Porter-Cable brand was really a big screw-up with their 20 volt stuff, this a tool set is basically Black & Decker grid whereas they have a different grade still Porter-Cable that is basically the same as their low-end DeWalt sets. I would stay away from this one

Thanks. Looking at the Porter-Cable site [portercable.com], I couldn't tell which were their better tools. Would those better tools also be 20V, because I have 4 20V batteries (and have been satisfed with my drill and driver)?

I have 18V sets of porter cable and they've been fine. I personally wouldn't swap out an 18V brushed set for a 20V brushed set like this one, makes much more sense to start graduating into brushless if you're going to a whole new line.

IF you don't really have any tools already, this has a great assortment for the $ - there's alot of value there for DIY / Weekend Project Warriors. I put it right there with Ryobi / Craftsman / Performax / etc... quality wise; I feel like mine often are punching above their weight class for the dollars spent which is nice.

The craftsman tools are practically DeWalt tools in red. I heard the batteries are even interchangeable or easy to modify to make interchangeable.

Very few, and only high end at that, new Craftsman tools have Dewalt internals. The batteries are NOT interchangeable.

Lowes is the better deal since there are multiple coupons you could use via ebay.

I got a set of these tools for small jobs around the house. They have been very sturdy. I am installing 300 ft of craftsman style privacy fence and using deck screws so the impact driver, skil saw, drill and saws all is really getting a workout! I have a set of 20v Dewalt that is heavier but really haven't needed it yet.
I like them so well that I bought another set for a mountain cabin in North Georgia. Always having to do "something" when we go up.
Great price for a lot of tool

I own nearly the entire Porter Cable 20V line, except the impact wrench and the stupid vacuum.

I've spent at least a thousand dollars collecting the line over the last two years and wish I had bought the biggest set immediately instead of doing it one bare tool at a time. I would have saved quite a bit of money.

That being said:

1. This is the manufacturer's intermediate quality line, between Black & Decker, then Porter Cable, then Dewalt.

2. It's a GREAT set of tools for your above-average homeowner or someone who is into DIY. Performance is great for the price and they rarely bog down, even on difficult tasks like recently drilling through a 1.5" quartz countertop.

3. This is a fantastic deal if you have no tools and are just starting out and don't want to make that investment into Dewalts.

4. All the praise aside, however, I wish I would have bought Dewalts. I think the PC line is getting replaced with Craftsman at Lowe's because they never caught on as a mid-grade brand. Therefore, it will be hard to continue getting additional tools and accessories as Porter Cable ages out. But at the time two years ago, I wasn't financially in a place where I could blow $500-700 on a full-fledged Dewalt set and this was a good alternative. I personally really like the tools - what they offer is a good enough suite to appease most homeowners. I do have a Pokémon kind of mentality when it comes to power tools so maybe not buying Dewalt was not the worst thing. It's not like I need a 20v heated jacket. Eyeroll.
