Guessing you've never been to Europe...
Left lane = passing lane. GTFO otherwise.

you're not saving lives:
https://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews...ith-60370/

the 4th cause, "aggressive driving", is obviously caused by aggression. what are you doing when you're deliberately hindering the passing lane? causing aggression.

edit: i'm not justifying aggressive behavior or excessive speeding. if you're in any way behaving as the superior one on the road - whether through dangerous maneuvers or "trolling" others, you're not helping anyone.

FWIW what you call "saving lives" is actually working against you by endangering everyone around you. You trying to block someone from passing isn't going to prevent them from attempting other maneuvers to get past. Let alone the fact what you are doing is actually illegal. The first Lane is not a fast lane but a passing lane. You should never hoard that lane.
There is actually enough evidence from studies that blocking people on the first lane like you described contributes to accidents. Look it up for yourself and get out of your bubble.

Looks to apply to the silver option, but not the black option.

Been waiting for a better deal than $250 for months. This is the lowest it gets so far. The R7 goes for a reasonable price when on a good sale, but the R3 has held steady at this level way too long imho.
Good deal if you need the R3. It's a superb detector (my daily driver). Someday I may upgrade wifey from her (my old) DFR-7 to my R3.

If I wanted an R3 badly right now I would look to the bay for used because some folks are getting the R7 and dumping their R3s. The R7 will get auto-lockouts someday soon hopefully. That feature plus arrows are good reasons.

The biggest thing I don't like about the R7 is that it's huge. The R3 is far more compact.

I've also had two R7's die already -- waiting for the next RMA to get back...

Black Friday is coming folks. The R7 will come down in price. I have the R7 since it was introduced and have no problems with it at all. Saved me from tickets. Well worth getting the R7.

This has got the mojo....nice to have an intelligent detector so every time I pass the school, it's not going off. Well worth the money.

False! Best price to performance detector out there. The R1 I have is a total game changer compared to my Escort. Easily saved me from 5 tickets.

Not when 1 or 2 tickets cost more than this does. Mine has saved me thousands and a lot of time.

How's the Uniden R3/R7 compared to the Escort Max 360C? I've read vortex radar's reviews on both, and it seems that while the Uniden has superior range, it gives a lot more false positives than the 360C. I don't really care about the wireless feature of the 360C, but it seems like Escort updates its database and gives firmware updates more often?

Thanks for the info. I have not seen much feedback on reliability issues.
I saw that they are much larger. Also, a peeve for me is Uniden angles the R7's display to the left as if everyone will mount it to their right. I mount my R3 on the left corner to keep it stealthy and still get awesome range.

The DFR-9 is a little bigger than the R3 too, but looks like the R3's twin at a glance. I don't think it has nearly as good a range though, from others' comments.

The recent firmware update for R3 (of which there have been more than one) filters out a small segment of the K band which is to help cut down on BSM falsing. Still get some but less than before. None have mastered it yet. I believe there is no worry to have over updates with the Unidens. Cannot speak to the Max 360C's performance firsthand.

I currently own a Uniden DFR7 and it has served me well.
What benefits would the R3 offer that the DFR7 can't deliver?
