Use promo code THINKPADSALE at checkout

This is better than the P53 and X1E Gen2 as the upgrade options are available at a slick price. Much slim and lighter than the P53.
Cancelled my P53 order and got this one, read comments to see if others saved more on this deal.

Add Win10 Pro for $20 (it shows up as $35 while customizing, but turns out to be $20 in shopping cart after applying the promo code)

Select these options:
Processor - Intel® Core™ i7-9750H
Memory - 32GB DDR4 RAM
First Hard Drive - 1TB Solid State Drive
Display - 15.6" UHD (3840 x 2160) 400 nits, OLED
Graphics Card - NVIDIA Quadro T2000 4GB

Please rep if you like it. Cheers

Good find, OP; about 1 lb from my dream system:

Weight: 1.7 kilograms | 3.76 lbs

Also, may as well add Win 10 Pro 64bit for +$35.

The problem I'm having is that the P53 with the same components is almost $200 cheaper.
P53 is not for everyone, it is bulky and heavy but has better thermals.

Also the charger for P53 is about 1.7 lbs or something. Can't haul that one anywhere. It is for those who do not carry their laptop a lot. I wouldn't travel with something like that.

Yeah, I get that. For me, I'm looking for something to use in hotel rooms for media editing and coding, so I think the P53 will work for that.

On another note, I attempted to get Dell to price match the current Thinkpad sale. I called and asked them to price a Precision 5540. The link the rep sent had a price of almost $2700 with lesser components, so I think this current Thinkpad sale is a pretty slick deal.

I ended up hanging up on the rep as he was jerking my chain for the most part.

Yes. The P53 might be best for your use case. It's an absolute beast (in terms of performance and size)

The P1 gen2 suits for those who prefer a slimmer and lighter laptop, but still need a powerful laptop. They are for different audience.

The OLED does seem to be stunning. Get the 3 year additional warranty for around $100 if you are going with OLED and are one of those who would worry about burn in thing.

I cannot get this price.. I get 2000 something.
Did you apply the THINKPADSALE promo code. I'm guessing you are using the one that Lenovo selects by default
