That was for the performer series.

$799 for for Performance model, which is normally at $1000-1100 level.

This deal is for higher Professional model, which has MSRP around $1500.

This Lake Placid Blue has to be the least sought after color in guitar making history. How many in the past year or so have been on SD?

I kind of like that color, but it seems to be an Adorama exclusive which all the strat deals are for.

These are nice, but if they had paired the various Lake Placid Blue models with rosewood fretboards (instead of maple) they would have sold out a long time ago.

I've seen the American Professional Stratocaster in Lake Placid Blue and a Maple neck in person. It looks really good. It looks better than the Offset Telecaster in Lake Placid Blue and a Maple neck. I can't explain why, it just does.

The Professional series is really great! I love the neck profile and the frets. And on the Tele they struck the perfect compromise between classic look and modern convenience with the bridge.

My preference is the rosewood fingerboard but Fender does sell more of the Maple fingerboards. Both are great, all depends on what feels right to the player and the tone your looking for.

I say that all the time. Only color ever offered. Nice color though.

How a colour works for particular models varies between those same models. For example, the Player Strat in Tidepool blue with maple board looks astounding, in my opinion, but the same colour combination, doesn't work as well on the Player Telecaster.

Not so sure. That's "only" 33% off, sometimes gets close to 40%. Plus MF/GC has them for $1499, so that only 27% off of that price. Adding 8% back from MF dilutes that even more.
The Jazzmaster they also have on sale is a true 39% off.
