The deal is good, but it is too close to BF. I would wait and hope for a better or cheaper deal next month. Too much of a coincidence that these Samsung tablets have been dropping in price more than 30 days away from BF... a little too fishy.

it's more android vs ios (ipad os now) rather than samsung vs ipad.

i'm an android guy that recently bought an ipad (air, 2019) due to the lack of android tablet ecosystem. the ipad was definitely the most expensive tablet i've ever bought, but also absolutely the best in quality and performance.

however, android in general seemed more intuitive and customizable in terms of the things you can do. things like file transfer, having a separate app drawer, widgets, being able to easily sideload apks, etc., i felt less restricted. however, it does come at a price. i ran into more bugs, and there aren't too many tablet-specific apps (mostly phone apps that are blown up).

with that said, this model is samsung's middle/budget tablet line, so i would expect performance as such. it's gonna be much better than a fire tablet, but won't hold a candle to the ipad (especially air and pro). i'd say it's a good purchase for everyday uses (pretty much anything other than the most graphics intensive games), as well as watching videos while traveling (especially with the micro sd slot).

I have both. It depends on what you use them for. I like Samsung better for functionality and things like file transfers, opening and signing documents, web browsing, rooting(like an android jailbreak), calendar, navigation. But when it comes to media consumption(netflix, youtube, web browsing) and gaming, the iPad takes it by a landslide. If you are only watching videos and light web browsing stick to iPad, but if you want to do a bit more try Samsung.

Never had a Samsung tablet before. Only iPads. How does this compare? Any key advantages?
