I'm lucky and have a local SW that allows me to purchase the Promar 200 interior paint (contractor paint). The guy at the counter recommended it unless you have a special application. It is excellent for the price and way lower than any of the consumer paints even with 40% off.

In the past at less friendly SW locations I have brought in old cans of Promar (left over from contractors) and told them to tint match that and usually had no problems even in different sheens/tints. The Harmony line is good also.

The main reason I buy from SW rather than the local HD or lowes is SW matches tints way better. Terrible experience with Lowes in that regard. I've also used 7 yr old SW paint and after a good mixing it still matched the walls perfectly for touch ups. The big box paints are useless after a year or two in storage.

Behr vs sherwin williams? Any inputs
SW hands down. We are repainting over our 3-4 year old Behr Marque. With this deal, SW Emerald is same price as Behr Marque. It covers better and colors are more true to what you expect

Interesting, I'll have to check out my local SW. How do they even tell if someone's really a "contractor" anyway?

You generally aren't supposed to paint stucco; it's supposed to be able to dissipate water. That said, superpaint is a good outdoor paint.

Just bought a new house, got a lot of painting to do and I'm not rolling around in money due to just buying the house. Better to go to Home Depot or this deal?
If you don't like to paint, choose Sherwin Williams for exterior paint. It will last much longer than BEHR. Florida sun eats paint for breakfast, but Sherwin holds up a very long time.

We got the Sherwin Williams "Harmony" zero VOC paint and painted our newly bought house nearly 100% with it (indoors only). The zero VOC is nice, you can paint and not even know it's fresh paint by smell minutes later. It's been 11 years and it still looks like new according to us, and my Realtor father who's seen tons of houses. This is despite 5 years of 3 little boys in the house, crayons on the walls then scrubbed off, dirty hand prints scrubbed off, and the usual everything else. The real kicker is that we did some touch up painting where there were physical dings in the walls and the left over paint from 11 years ago was still good and matched color AND SHEEN perfectly. I still have no idea where any of the patches we did are. Oh, one downside is that most walls required two to three coats. Other than that, I'll be buying more of this paint when I finish remodeling our living room. Expensive, but worth it.
It's not zero voc if its tinted. No one know this tho. Still extremly low voc tho.

The what? Yes, stucco is water resistant, but stucco cracks. Therefore it should be sealed, maybe unless you live in a non-humid, non-rainy climate. I've never seen an unpainted stucco house, but I've lived in Florida most of my life and maybe I've missed that when traveling. Not painting a stucco house in Florida is asking for mold inside your house. I'm not sure where the person who asked the question is from, or where you're from, but what's right in one place may not be right in another.

What does a non-painted stucco house look like anyway? Do they dye the stucco mix the color they want first? What happens when it cracks, do they have to make the crack wider and re-stucco it so they get a consistent look? I'm genuinely curious because I hate cracked garages and driveways and I've never seen a good patch job unless it's covered with epoxy paint after.

I'm not sure which is best, I just use an exterior-rated paint. My in-laws added a clear coat of a glossy sealer after they painted their house though, and it has lasted way longer than my last paint job. We used Valspar semi-gloss exterior just like they did.

I have used this paint, ive used stuff from home depot and stuff from walmart. its all the same with a different price tag. If you wanna waste a few hundred bucks extra to paint a few rooms go to this place.

walmart has paint thats under 20 bucks a can and looks and applies the same. If you want paint to last prep the surface properly. scrape old paint, spackle, sand if you have to, two coats, not too thick or thin.

Paints are NOT all the same. Especially when buying paint, you get what you pay for in terms of coverage and durability. That's why you'll never see a pro use cheap paint.

Sherwin Williams has held up far better than any paint I've tried. They also make a very good exterior spackle compound for hairline cracks. If you want a quality job, prep is paramount, including thorough pressure washing and spackling.

I've used two Sherwin-Williams paint deals recently, one on 10/10 and one on 10/11.
I bought 4 gallons of super paint (color: Passive Gray) and 5 gallons of white flat-mat ceiling paint. I still averaged about $45 per gallon, which brings me to my point; even with two stacking coupons (which they do stack), Sherwin-Williams is freakin EXPENSIVE. However, they are fast, so when I walk into the store, i'm back out in 5 minutes. You get what you pay for and they keep your purchase history, which is great when you're matching paint later down the road...
I completely agree with you! Year ago i went to Walmart to get my paint due to budget restrictions and I want to buy the same color today. The associates don't even know how to use the machine. I have to do color match at HD

Went into a Sherwin William's store today. Ended up buying four gallons. 25 off 100 for AMEX plus the 10 off 50 got me to $130 for paint. Primer is not included in the deal!!! It's full price. So expect to pay a little more if you want some primer also.
