To be more specific, there are 24 base fighters in the game, including a 1 you unlock for beating story mode, and an additional Goku/Vegeta form you can unlock.

There are two DLC character packs. Season/fighter pack 1 has completed releasing, and contains 8 new characters, season/fighter pack 2 is contains 6 fighters (marketing say at least 6, so maybe there's one or two surprises in there). I don't follow the game as much any more, so not that tuned into news.

The Fighterz Edition contains the 8 characters from the first season.

Ultimate has the 8 season 1 characters plus some, Anime Music Pack (11 songs from the Anime), Commentator Voice Pack

Its new at walmart for $20 if you aren't adverse to physical. Can get for same price at Gamestop used if you can find.

Personally think it's an amazing game, very simple and zenlike, awesome soundtrack.

There's a demo available if you want to try it out. I HATED the controls, and gave up pretty quick. I'd give it another chance if I spent time to figure out different controls though.

About half the fighters are locked out if you get no DLC. That said there are still a lot of fighter in the vanilla version and that is the one I own.

No man, I mean the fact that there are multiple editions and DLC. Are the more expensive editions worth it? Are the DLCs worth it? Or am I good with just the base game for 18 bucks?

If you liked the original, it's just as good and I like it on the portable switch platform. The motion controls are interesting and work pretty well but honestly I still mainly just use a pro controller if it's docked.

I think this is the best US price I've seen it for but I bought it in the past for $12 USD from the UK eShop if you're willing to deal with the payment hassles of getting the right currency.

I've only been able to buy from certain foreign eshops. I haven't figured out how to buy from some of the cheapest ones, like South Africa. Not sure if you even can from a US account. Have you had any luck?
