Great deal, but I just picked up the Final Cut 4K, also at Best Buy for $22.99 for even a another different version. Not quite as long as Redux, I think they cut the French Plantation scene down a bit from Redux.

Thanks, didn't know the 4K was out -- going to BB tomorrow anyway and they have in-stock still. I already have the older set with Redux and all the special features (I know a lot of the new 4Ks don't have all the old special features, so it's a good way to build up a lot of duplicate copies of things and justify it anyway).

PSA: This appears to be the first and third discs of the previous Full Disclosure edition, omitting the 2nd disc which had 3-4 hours of extras, interviews, BTS content, etc. That's still available from Amazon for $14-$16 if you're a completionist.

AFAIK they cut out the playboy parts. Not sure about the french plantation part.

I watched the final Cut before redux/original.

I didn't do any deep dive into it. I feel like they were all pretty much the same to me. The redux is probably my favorite, but not by any huge margins.

So does the 4K version have Atmos/X soundtrack? If so how good is the conversion in AQ and PQ compared to Redux?

There is even a 5 hour version with a longer Playboy bunny scene.

I had a copy about 10 years ago but it was a VHS copy of a VHS copy of a VHS copy and really hard to watch.

But Coppola said this is the Final Cut, and this is, so don't look for the 5 hour version to be ever released.

Hearts of Darkness is a gem this discussion has thus far overlooked. If you haven't watched it before do yourself a tremendous deed and check it out. The entire production was a complete fiasco from the moment pen was put to paper. Catastrophic events at every turn. Sorry, but no spoilers. Dennis. Freaking. Hopper. His antics alone are worth the price of admission.

I think the original theatrical version is the best. All the later versions did was add in scenes that don't add much context but just make it very long and occasionally dull (IMO, of course).

I love the smell of Best Buy in the morning. Smells like...acne medication.
