Great time to come to Phoenix. Maybe not the other way around. For those that live in the Minneapolis area, anything interesting to visit for a few days.

Museums galore. Lots of indoor things to do.

Basic Economy in unable to be really upgraded. You can pay more later for a main cabin upgrade, but you'll only be upgraded to a seat with a bit more leg room. You won't be given priority boarding nor guaranteed overhead bin space as you would expect being in main cabin.

I've lived in Minneapolis for 20 years. I can summarize your question in one word during the months of November thru the beginning of March: no. That's why we leave.

Lots buts it's certainly easier if you have a host to entertain you. Bring a coat (not a jacket!) especially if Jan/Feb.

The delta flights are all departing Minneapolis at like 8pm or later and arriving ~11pm or later in Phoenix.

Meanwhile, sun country has $106 flights departing at "normal" times.

Haha born and raised in here. While I don't mind going south for a long weekend in the winter, I enjoy the winter and can't wait to be ice fishing. Hoping to be walking on ice by mid November. Call me crazy.

Come on up to Minnesota this winter! Bet you have never seen full size pickups driving on lakes with plowed roads 😁 rent a ice castle and try out ice fishing. Snowmobiling, skiing, outdoor hockey games, winter mountain biking with fat bikes, the list could go on. Yes some days are brutal but winter can be great also.

I was actually going to be meeting a friend in Minneapolis around October end. We just have that as a midway and decided to meet there since flights were reasonable. I booked the flights yesterday and didn't check on how it's going to be there. Now reading your comment in giving me second thoughts. Is it that bad? We just wanted to get together, may be go for drinks and restaurants and catch up. Hard no?
