Just me maybe, but I'd rather just buy a new 4K AVR for the money this costs.

I suppose a device like this has value if you have really expensive older amps that lack some newer bells and whistles.

OTOH this is slickdeals, where people argue in 20 page threads on how to get an Amazon Fire Stick for $1 cheaper.....

You ain't kidding. This thing is pricey for what it does. I guess if you have more than a grand invested in your receiver it makes sense.
