SOTTR Definitive Edition is coming:

https://tombraider.square-enix-ga...ve-edition

Also Just Cause 3 XXL is a thing so don't buy the XL edition if you want everything: https://store.steampowered.com/bu...L_Edition/

And if you have an Xbox and took advantage of the Ultimate Game Pass deal, some of these games are on Game Pass like Life Is Strange, Deus Ex, and Just Cause 4 so you can try them out and see if they're worth your hard earned cash.

Sleeping Dogs is a great game, but it's historic low was $2 on Steam just a few months ago.

Its a shame the XXL pack really isnt any more content than XL. A few in game weapons and vehicles is the only difference.

Yep, but for those completionists out there...

PS: I didn't mean to sound like I was crapping on DJ's deal, it's your money you do what you want with it, just wanted to throw out a little more information so people could make informed purchasing decisions.

I dont think it came across that way at all, you cant always find *the best* deal all the time, so its good to see whereabouts this one stands.

Just picked up SOTTR Croft edition steelbook a few weeks ago which includes the Season Pass and I'm thinking oh great, another more definitive is coming out. After checking out the details, happy to learn anyone with the season pass will still get the new content without having to pay extra.

That's good news. I've been holding off buying it because A) I finished it on Xbox/Game Pass already and B) I knew damn well they were coming out with a GOTY/Definitive/whatever edition eventually, and voila, there it is. Now to just wait for the price to come down.

Hate when game publishers come out with several editions for a game. Thought the Croft Edition would be the be-all edition since it includes the season pass. Considering the last 2 TR games got only 1 version per console, who would have thought there'd be a 3rd for this one?

At least they did right for anyone who owns the season pass. Games like Destiny I avoid because I could never tell when the Complete Edition will ever be out and when Destiny 1's came out and they put an expiration date on the dlc. Owning games should always be forever so I never trust owning anything digitally because it could always be taken away from you in the future for one reason or another.

If you like sci-fi shooters or immersive sims, get it. I recommend playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution first though. If you would like to know more about either, let me know.

Man... It pays to be a patient gamer. Should have waited to buy Just Cause XL. Paid over $20 for it a few years ago because of the funny gifs, and never got around to playing it properly

I've gotten used to it which is why I've pretty much stopped pre-ordering a long time ago, you end up getting more content for less money if you wait for the GOTY/Complete/Definitive/etc. Edition.

And I skipped Destiny 1 also due to their ridiculous DLC practices. But some people went all in on it, I have a buddy of mine that loves the franchise and owns all the things for it. I just recently started playing 2 since it went free to play on Steam, it's fun but it's not $200+ worth of games fun (cost of games plus DLC's factoring in 1 and 2).

I couldn't agree more about waiting for the most complete edition. Some games you can never tell if and when such an edition will come out and it's a pain for me when it does and I already own the base game. Rarely do I upgrade to the complete edition since I hate rebuying games just to get the dlc and I won't buy dlc digitally unless it's extremely cheap.

Game publishers putting out dlc is the bane of video games in my book as I avoid buying any game that has them. Like you, I wait for the goty /complete/definitive to come out but want it on physical disk and I buy only the ones where the dlcs are on the disk although I can be attracted to buying something with a season pass if it has nice extras like a steelbook case and a soundtrack which is what SOTTR croft Edition has. If the definitive edition has all the dlc on the disk, I'm going to feel bad having bought the Croft Edition.

Bungie has regained the rights to Destiny. Hoping they put out a new collection that has all the content of Destiny 1&2 on disk in a single package. I'm fairly sure the stupid ideas of expiring dlc download codes and nickel-and-diming gamers was Activision's idea. If nothing changes under Bungie's charge, I guess I'm still buying nothing for Destiny.

I think microtransactions and lootboxes are more the bane of the video game industry now rather than DLC.

As far as things being on disc, I wish you luck with that. More and more physical items are nothing more than a Steam key in a box now. The last disc game I bought was GTA 5 and even that only started loading off the discs then it downloaded the rest of the game.

A Destiny 1 and 2 pack would be pretty cool if such a thing were feasible given potential licensing rights issues.
