I got the one with the stand from home depot when it was on clearance. The only thing i didn't like about this for a home shop saw was that it cant take a dado stack. I needed up selling for that reason.

Other wise a great saw for just about everything else.

I also got the HD clearance saw. This has more than a 16" rip capacity.

I've been watching SD for something with table saws for a long time, but they seem pretty infrequent. I'm a newbie, looking to hone my skills to the point that I can build built-ins for my house. Does anyone have suggestions on a table saw I can purchase that would meet my needs, since the deals are this infrequent?
I was burned by 2 used saws I purchased, ended up eating a good chunk of the costs (one fence was cheap and never straight...; the other is old and unreliable with 1/4" movement on the back of the fence).

Fence issues are not uncommon. Some have better luck than others

Thanks just got one. I was waiting on the 7480 (24" rip + 4800 rpm) but for a person just getting into woodworking, i think this will do just fine for my small projects

Deals are infrequent but Black Friday is a little more than a month from now, so I would wait for that. I think deals as good or better will come along between mid-Nov. and mid-Dec.

I own this as well. Built a set of garage cabinets with it. Works great for 90% of my cuts and the other 10% I wish I could use a dado stack or rip over 20"... I got it on clearance at HD too with the stand this summer

This is a good saw, 250 is cheap. I have this and a track saw...if you're only going to have one get a track saw, great for ripping plywood for built-ins ect
