Would these even be better than their mobile counter parts which cost a fraction?

Well same game, but new release for consoles so why wouldn't they charge full price. Mobile versions are $10 less than this and have crap controls. Just found it $9 off 2 days after launch thought I'd pass it on.

I asked specifically because I figured touch screens better emulate the mouse movement commands. I wasn't sure how the switch controller translates to a game such as this. I ASSumed the touch screen of a tablet would be better suited...

Are there difficulty options? Would love an easy mode so I can experience the game without frustration.

The reviews I read say the touchscreen controls are crap. There was some sarcasm about them charging full price for ports of 20 year old games but I guess it doesn't come through text. The switch is especially bad charging full price for Skyrim and now Witcher 3 at $60. I'd love to buy these games I already have on pc on the switch but these prices suck. End of soapbox.

There is a story mode that's supposed to be easy, but I play core rules which is I think 2 or 3 slots higher.

Fun games, and love the Switch, but this being $42 for games I bought for $5 each is a hard pill to swallow. Not saying this isn't a good deal from its normal Nintendo Switch price, just that the Switch pricing on this game is a little on the extreme side.

To be fair it's "console release" price. They're all $50 msrp. It isn't Nintendo just screwing you this time like skyrim and Witcher 3.

Want cheap, be a pc gamer I guess.

I disagree, it is obvious A LOT of work went into the Witcher port

Doesn't matter if I can get the same game for $10 elsewhere.

It sure does matter, if you can't play it on your preferred platform. This is not a new process, additional work goes into bringing games to other ecosystems and they're priced accordingly.

I'll continue to enjoy playing Witcher 3 on the go.

Who said switch is the preferred platform? I doubt it's many people's only platform due to the dearth of games and the prices that rarely drop. I could play it on the go on my laptop with better graphics and not having to pay for online features for the low cost of $15 right now. That extra $45 I could use to get 3 other games Nintendo thinks are worth full asking price from 5 years ago.

The amount of work someone put into something doesn't determine its value, the market does. $60 for an ancient game is asinine. ThoughTBF, this deal I posted is same.

Not sure you read my comment. I never mentioned Switch as 'your preferred platform'. Anyway I get it, you dislike the switch and don't want to pay the premium. But if you think this pricing is unique you're mistaken. Releasing games on new platforms does cost money, and again it isn't new for the developers to list these games at full price. Is it worth it? Not to me no, but apparently to some as this again is not an exception but the standard. I personally feel these games will freefall in price within a few months and will be readily available for $20ish.
