I searched Etekcity in the AppStore. There are 3 separate apps by VeSync. The apps appear to have different purposes and possibly overlap. The reviews aren't very impressive on any of them. Most people couldn't set them up so there were very few reviews about their actual use.
Unless you plan on using Google or Alexa and someone vouches that they work I'd pass on theses.

I can vouch they work, most of the negative reviews come from people who probably shouldn't be using devices like this anyway if they can't figure out how to set it up (which is easy).

I'm glad to hear that others have a had a good experience with these.

However I can't really recommended these. I bought a bunch of these about two years ago and ended up returning them because I couldn't a decent amount of them to connect reliably to the app. It may just have been a few bad apples of the several I bought. I am still a fan of Etekcity products to this day. Also, depending on your needs and how many you will need, there might be a better and different option.

I've personally settled on a Broadlink RM Pro and Etekcity Wireless Remote Control Outlet Light Switches from Amazon. The Broadlink does RF and IR and can be linked to Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa and it's about $30 to $40 for the Broadlink and $25 for a 5 pack of outlet switches and 2 remotes. The remotes are a nice plus as well because you can stick them to the wall with some 3M strips and use them like wall switches, which is something these can't do.

Just food for thought.

I use a similar setup however some points to consider are you are using 'dumb' switches. They will not report status of on/off in apps where the typical ones will. They also don't allow timers like many of the smart android type apps will. Finally if you buy several 5 packs you more than likely will get a duplicate "code set" as they only use around 5 different sets of codes. If you get two 5 packs for instance on code 315 you could plug in two floor lamps and both would come on when that particular unit (1-5) was toggled but otherwise they become useless except as backups.

I was always want to set up a routine to restart my modem and lately I plug it to my amazon smart plug and set it turn off at 3 am and turn back on at -3:30 am every Thursday. And of course it failed because There is no internet to tell it to turn back on after it is off. 😂. I dong know there is a solution for my purpose.

That's funny. 😆 Why not just set up a routine to reboot your router from the router's software/UI?

Or, the most basic and fool proof way is to use one of those physical outlet timers. I have Ubiquiti network gear for this very reason... No more daily restarts on flaky consumer network gear. Can't remember the last time it was restarted, probably a power outage months ago lol.
