For those interested, it has

an IPS panel with 10-bit color support (8-bit + 2-bit FRC), 300 cd/m² brightness, 99% sRGB
refresh rate of 75Hz,
FreeSync works over both HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2 within 52-75Hz range,
input lag ~10ms,
USB-C (60W power delivery, data, and DisplayPort 1.2 Alternate Mode)
HDR on this is a gimmick; it's only software-enabled meaning that the monitor can accept the HDR10 signal, but lacks proper display capabilities for a decent HDR viewing experience.

Overall, seems like a GREAT monitor for productivity, that is also GOOD for non-competitive gaming assuming you have a high end GPU and CPU.

not hard to explain, CRG90 is 32:9, versus this LG at 21:9, so even wider.
samsung uses VA panels, versus LG's IPS, so you'll get greater contrast, while IPS has more accurate colors. CRG90 is aimed at gamers, this LG is designed for content creation (60hz only).

I went through this about a year ago and ended up getting a 38" Acer, because Microcenter had a nice price on them (~$750).

If the Dell is the same price currently, I would go with the Dell for no other reason than 3yr vs. 1yr warranty, and my personal opinion that Dell makes excellent monitors and has excellent service/exchange policies for them. Not that LG is necessarily terrible in this respect, but Dell is excellent about it. Acer has 3 years also, but I would absolutely go with a Dell over Acer if the price was similar. Citi adds 2 with some cards so I was very comfortable with 5 years total. 1 year base is awfully light.

Far as the actual usages go, these 38" models are still mostly productivity models and are not for twitch gamers. I do game some on mine and for me personally, 75Hz is good enough that the refresh rate does not bother me, 60Hz is borderline and anything below is very annoying.

The 1600 pixel height is a big difference for productivity, and my older eyes find the pixel pitch and resolution to be good at the 38" size whereas 34" ones are a little small. Basic office work drives me nuts on 1080 - 1200 pixel heights.

At this price I think the 38" guys make sense if you are concerned about productivity. If framerate sensitive gaming is more important to you then 34" is probably still the way to go.

I would not expect any huge drops for BF. BF bargains are mostly on mainstream stuff. There's not really any reason for these to get much cheaper. 120Hz 38's are finally popping up and cost twice as much.

How does that have HDR 10 support with standard monitor 300 cd/m² brightness rating?

I bought this monitor and do not recommend it. I returned it and got the Samsung CRG90. It is hard to explain but Samsung is just more immersive, much sharper and vivid. Its like having 3 in 1 - just amazing.

Samsung CRG90 is only 1200p. LG is 1600p. Better resolution on LG, which is great for office app like excel. I have LG my office work and I love it.

The LG 34gk950g 34" ultrawide monitor for $600 is a better deal in my opinion (120Hz, IPS, G-Sync). The 34gk950g is not HDR, but I personally am not a fan of HDR yet, too much over saturated content out there and HDR gaming results in washed out scenes.
