IMPACT READY

Does that mean they're regular impact sockets, or something different?

It means you can use them in impact wrench. Using regular sockets in an impact will most likely result in the sockets cracking or breaking.

Need metric badly; nothing on my car is measured in inches, and with impacts, you don't want to wing it with fit and risk rounding out any fasteners/nuts you're trying to loosen.

Grab the harbor freight set. They are solid.

Maybe this? You lose the adaptors, 7/16 and the 1/2 but gain a 1" more useful for auto work IMO DEWALT Deep Impact Socket Set, 7-Piece, 1/2" Drive Metric (DWMT74737) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01IF...RDbVSYX5PV

That's great if you don't need the deep sockets. If you need them get this set. https://www.harborfreight.com/13-...69561.html
I have them and they work great gives you larger sizes than the Dewalt ones too.

I am not sure who actually uses SAE. It's rare for all of the cars and motorcycles I work on. Old American cars?

Why? The HF is probably just as good plus the warranty and return is much better...I can't justify buying any other hand Tool that HF has lifetime warranty on and don't need precision.
