Didn't see this posted although it's apparently been available since the beginning of the month. Samsung Pay now has a debit card account where you can load money from debit, credit or bank accounts and make purchases instead of using a bank card. If you sign up and then upgrade to the full account (which is free), they will add $5 to your account. Then you can send the money by using the new debit card for payments as you would any other card in Samsung Pay. Obviously this is only available to people who have Samsung phones that support Samsung Pay.

I found the upgrade link by clicking on "Add money" and then clicking on the "Bank transfer" tab). After I did that, I had $5 on my card.

They charge 3% for adding money from your credit card, 25c for adding from a debit card but it's apparently currently being waived.

And sold your SSN and ID for it. You know personal data is property in this age of time right? Your "free" is far from free.

Hmmm, charge to load funds? I'll stick to privacy and Revolut to use digital card.

Samsung Pay is technically able to work everywhere that has a magnetic stripe reader.

Samsung uses MFT, Magnetic Secure Transmission

Right... Samsung Pay already does this. Like I said, the Samsung Card does not extend this functionality at all.

How do you transfer cash back to this Samsung cash debit card? I only see an option to redeem for a new debit card or gift cards.
Go into Samsung Pay / Me (at the bottom) / Redeem (under Cash back awards) / Samsung Pay Rewards card.

Only caveat is that expiration dates apply.

Doesn't that create a new rewards card instead of transferring the amount to the Samsung Pay Cash card that was just introduced? I believe that option always existed, even before the new pay cash card was introduced.

Anyone else having issues registering?

I go upper right and click promotions and see the deal there. I click on 'register now' and it takes me to Google Play and asks me to open the app. I open the app and I'm taken back to the 'register now' page. It keeps looping and I can't register. Oh well, so much for that. lol

Having same issue. Someone said debit card already shows in wallet and to register from there, but I don't see it.
Do you have Android 7 or earlier? I was seeing the same issue, and found that Samsung Pay Cash was introduced in version 3.7.60 of Samsung Pay, but the latest version available for Android 7 and earlier is 3.7.45. So, Samsung Pay is directing me to Google Play to update the app, but the update isn't available since it's only supported on devices with Android 8.0+

So you don't do ANY banking? Even if you're a member at B&M bank, your information is still going into a database.

The more companies having your SSN/ID the more risk you're shouldering of potential security breach. If sacrificing 1 more potential of your SSN/ID being stolen for $5 is worth to you then go for it by all means. I didn't even wanna do the Swagbucks Lifelock deal of $~60 MM for giving up my SSN to them.

Sometimes you just dont want to carry a card around or ur wallet at least. On google Pay I just load all my cards on just in case i ever forget my wallet which is surprisingly often for me

I saw this in Samsung Pay but don't really understand the purpose of it so didn't mess with it. Why would you need this except to get the 5.00?

I can't think of a reason why I would ever use Samsung Pay with a debit card. I like my cash back from using credit cards.
