The sense series is the bluetooth model and requires you to be in bluetooth range to operate. If you want to control regardless of where you are, you will need the wifi adaptor and use their app. If you don't own a hub that has z-wave or want to integrate with homekit, this is the version to get.

The connect series connects via z-wave. If you want to integrate with ring or smartthings, this is the version to get. You will have to use your hub to control the lock since the schlage app does not work with this version.

Camelot and century refer to the style of the deadbolt. The camelot is less bulky in depth, the century sticks out about 1/2-3/4" from the door once installed.

Schlage offers a lifetime warranty on mechanical and finish (except the rubbed bronze) and a 3yr warranty on the electronics. Save your receipts to prove you are the original owner and they will also ask you to take pics of your hardware including any serial numbers. Those who have issues should look into it, I've had no issues with warranty claims; they ship a replacement out and didn't ask for the old one.

Have had the Camelot Satin Nickel for a 2+ years now, great setup (sounds like this might be a new model but looks the same). I don't have remote capability setup, I just have different codes for different people (kids, cleaners, grandparents, etc.). Battery life is a year plus.

Been holding out for some of these, the one thing I'm not clear on is about Zwave. Is it just some software/app or an extra peripheral device not included?

Zwave is a communication protocol that requires something like a Samsung Smarthings hub to communicate with it. It's the best protocol (in my opinion) for a smart home, but you will need to do all of your interactions through a smart hub.

Recently saw a CBC Marketplace episode on youtube showing how hackable all our homes are, the schlage deadbolt was featured. Not sure if it was due to homeowner's poor password protection or her choice to click onto a phishing email but the hackers were in the home in minutes.

Thanks! I assume my many Alexa (Dots/Shows/etc) products qualify as a smarthub device? And that I can pull the trigger on this
