This tax thing is horrible, the canon RP was down to 840 on ebay, but they charge tax... order directly from the seller (which costs more, but doesn't charge tax), ended up paying less... so I'm very reluctant to buy anything from ebay now.

And in this case they didnt offer 8% for everyone. I'll pass.
Tax should've hit them hard though.

I just bought a couple items today but forgot to activate the offer first. Will the ebay bucks apply to those orders? (Since they were still technically purchased during the promotional period)

Lucky you. They could have paid, received item and opened a not as describe case. Return you back with a rock with you paying return shipping.
The more "honest" way would be to return the item and make the seller pay for shipping and handling both ways. That adds up quick over time. They could also swap out the item with a defective one or as stated above.... A rock that weighs about the same as the item did....

I would have loved to double dip with my current bucks certificate but not eligible this go around. My guess is more targeted to those that don't have a balance. I typically get these offers 90% of the time on my account.
That's what I'm starting to think as well. I've been waiting for another eBucks offer to come up this month so I can use my $30 credit. I often get the promo emails but not a single one since I received the eBucks credit earlier this month.

I'll hang on and see if I get an offer until the bucks expires next week but I have a feeling their algorithm knows I'm waiting for one.

It's probably a safe bet that we'll get the offer right after the bucks were used/expired.

was 840 for a day +. I even called 6ave camera and was told it's their ebay special price for deal of the day. Would not match it on their own website lol.
